Fuck the Cowboys.
but first: Carolina-Duke tonight. I have become a Heels fan for a couple of reasons. One is that I currently live in NC. Another, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and you know how I feel about Duke and, to a much lesser degree, NC State. And, well, Carolina blue's a beautiful color. I don't realize (though I don't know why I didn't see it coming) that Dickie "Dookie" V was going to be caling this game. I generally enjoy him, but it's annoying when watching a Duke game because we all know THE SUN RISES AND SETS IN JJ REDICK'S ASS, BABY!
But wait, what's this? The game has started, but it's not on my TV! They are showing an ESPNews-type feed on ESPN, even though the digi cable says it should be the game! During the previous game they were saying it might be blacked out in some ACC markets, but I say to myself "they can't mean me". I figured this would only be the case if it was showing on one of the networks, which would be likely, but it's not, and it's not showing on ESPN either! What the deuce?! I live in NORTH-BY-GOSH-CAROLINA! If this is happening in the rest of my viewing area there just may be cars overturned! What the hell?!
So the title: I was (and am now again, since there's no f^%@^@#$ game on!) watching Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. I was surfing and came across it. I stuck around, not cuz I'm a Cowboys fan (fuck 'em!), not cuz the Cowboys cheerleaders are hot (they ain't bad) but because I think somewhere, as a corrollary to being a band dork (as well as a sports fan and a dancer) I find cheerleading intriguing. So hear I sit, watching a reality show about cheerleading on CMT. (edit: there I sat. I finally found the Duke-Carolina game.) But I was digging the show all around, except when they were poking and prodding at the women about how "fat" they were (or actually, weren't)... kind of annoying. But otherwise intriguing.
For whatever reason, my throat started fucking with me sometime this afternoon. i'm making some tea right now in attempts to curb that. Hopefully I'm not getting something.
