Ow.

Well, today I went through that thing that just about every other Jewish boy goes through eight days from the day he's born: my bris.

From my perspective, I guess it went as well as I would have dared hope. The important parts are still attached, and I did get to enjoy a goodly portion of Manischewitz wine. I think the marketing people at Manischewitz might have an ad campaign in the making: "Our wine is so good, you won't even mind if someone takes a sharp object to your ..." Hm. Maybe not.

Plus it was a very nice service, and lots of friends and relatives were there to witness it. Mommy and Daddy picked out lots of lovely readings, some of which moved me to tears. Yeah, that's why I was crying.

My godfather, eastbayted, got recruited to video-record the ceremony, or at least the first half. You should have seen the expression on his face as he shot the actual circumcision. Sheesh. What a baby. I wonder how he thought I felt? Hopefully that scene will be cut (no pun intended) from the final version. I don't need Mommy and Daddy whipping that out (second pun not intended) when I have girlfriends over when I'm older.
