Toshiko nursed her tea, uncharacteristically reluctant to return to work. Suzie's presence was gone from the Hub, but she had left behind a malignant shadow of doubt.
Jack had wasted no time replacing her. Tosh wondered how he could have such confidence, when someone they trusted had just become a murderer behind their backs. For Tosh, the world was tilted. Should she worry about the others now? Should she watch herself?
She finished the last sip and left money on the table. With luck, there'd be action tonight, and she could return to the more comfortable concern of alien invasions.
