Of the souls the Rift captures and deposits here, Jack reckons most are malignant-among the ones Torchwood sees. How many do they miss, and how many of those are joyful?
He watches his staff running through the sand with butterfly nets, sweeping up alien fireflies. The creatures' bite is mildly toxic, not that it's their fault. They're just lost-and still glowing gladly in the dusk.
Ianto pursues a swarm right into the waves and yells with shock and cold. Toshiko giggles, setting the rest of them off. Jack walks down to join them, smiling, net at the ready.
