I stole this from Caitlin bc it's so damn true....

".....And then, some things that are so stupid will make me mad, like the obvious favoritism of the athletes on this campus. A.K.A. BRYANT HALL. If you read the Crimson White yesterday you know that that new dorm is 49% athletes (Due to regulations of the NCAA that says the majority of residents in a dorm cannot be athletes, which I guess is because it shows favoritism from the University to the athletes). These rooms include new houndstooth couches and full-size beds, and are getting a flat-panel plasma t.v. installed in the common room. The 51% of engineering majors that make up the rest of Bryant Hall say that they will never really use the Common Room, that it is unwrittenly understood that the room is mainly athletes only. The new dining hall associated with Bryant Hall has a buffet line for athletes only that includes items such as filet mignon, snow crab legs, lobster, and more. This is free for athletes. $17.50 for non-athletes. I do not like this at all. It's not necessarily because they have so many more opportunities that I have, but it is the blatant favoritism of the University to athletes. Which is not just from the administation of the campus. I cannot stand seeing students fawn over Tyrone Prothro, all those others when they are just people as well. Cool, Tyrone Prothro sat next to you the other day. I honestly don't really care. He was in a class of mine last year where he showed up only for the tests, and a couple of times where he came to the lecture and played with his cell phone the entire time. The girl beside him took his notes. If he keeps up that sort of habit, I will be so much more than him in life... What is he beside an athlete? Remember how, because of his injury, he'll never be able to play football like that again? That is gone, and now he drags along bad grades. So don't get me wrong... I love Alabama Football and Tyrone Prothro was amazing last season, but I'd hate to think that would be the highlight of his life. It's pathetic in a way.

And Bryant Hall makes me mad because, while everyone there is nice and spread out, there is a gross overcrowding in Tutwiler. The University made a bad decision when it required all freshman to live on campus, required them to buy a meal plan that they will never use. The on-campus requirement meant there there was a need for more parking, which they handled by taking away commuter parking spaces away. So now, if you are lucky enough to live off campus and away from the thousands of freshman, it takes forever to find a parking spot. God forbid your class start late, like aroung 11. You will be late to class and never find a parking space.

I just think that this campus's priority is to make money, which they are doing by screwing us students. I think it is wrong, and I feel especially sorry for the freshman, including the ones who are stuck in makeshift dorm rooms in Tutwiler that are really meant as a study room. The only ones I do not feel sorry for are those athletes who never lift a finger, and yet everything is handed to them on a silver platter in Bryant Dining Hall. "

So yeah... UA may be a great school and all but it's fucking retarted how they pamper the atheletes. Fuck that shit.
