The one student whose opinion I respect most when it comes to writing, the one who sits next to me in Poetry class with his thick-rimmed-emo-artist burgundy-tinged glasses and thistle-wild hair told me this ( Read more... )

john m tierney...
remember when we smoked cigarettes and other things in the dark in your goat barn and your mom beeped the car horn. you insisted if we didn't respond, she'd think none of us were here.

oh meredith, with all the asphalt that cracked under my feet...
(I was so much older then, I am younger than that now)

you are an absolute darling...I hope all is thick and consoling in the illinois state.

my sister yells at me at 3 am, and did you know there are so many things I don't remember.

dear jonathan
if i haunted you with my attempts at poetry, would you mind you so much? it would be tied up here neatly for you (but without a ribbon) and carina and whoever else might be searching.

i think your thoughts might help as illinois is stretching me thin.

Dear Meredith Meredith,
Remember when our lives took parallel curves back in August? And the things we did for [love, or something] that threw us into that place? And when you brought me a silver bracelet back from Spain & hugged me? How there's never been enough time, but I love you always so much.
Our lives are all throwing parallels again, and I refuse to let them dip down into that black tar pit of August again. Icarus would have been smarter the second time around, & we just learn & learn. I love you so so much.
.me.

dearest you
we take parallel curves quite frequently. if you only yours would curve towards illinois. (april holds some hope)
icarus might have been smarter if he'd gotten a second chance. but who's to say that we're as smart as icarus could have been?
i'm thinking i might not be. oh love.
peace
~me

Dear Meredith,
You are more than as smart as Icarus could have been.
And lovely? You don't have an ego the size of the Atlantic standing between your tips and your toes.
You are. You are.
