Decided I'm going to do a half marathon in early December… haven't decided which one quite yet, but there are several options. So it looks like I'm already behind a week in training (oops) but really, not bad.
Candidates:
Huntersville Half (Huntersville, NC) - Dec. 10th (although I'm reading reviews saying this one is a hard course to PR)
Locomotive Half (Kennesaw, GA) - Dec. 11th (I like the Sunday races...)
…and maybe others.
Open to suggestions!
Anyway, I'm planning to follow my trusty Hal Higdon itermediate half plan, but of course I'm already behind and this week was screwy. Soooo... yeah I'll get on that eventually!
Monday - rest
D had ear tube surgery this morning, so we worked from home afterwards while he recovered.
Tuesday - #10kTuesday
Ugh. Awful run. Warmer than anticipated, not enough fuel beforehand, GI issues, just BLEH. I had a 12-minute mile in there somewhere. Gross.
Wednesday - lift
Had a good lift in the gym today, didn't do any running beforehand. After yesterday's run I'm not in the mood to go for it again. Also I've had this kind of warm/burning sensation behind my eyes and a headache, kind of a feverish feeling, but I'm not chilled so it's probably not bad. I also have no appetite which is a problem. And this cough… WON"T GO AWAY. :( I just want to feel 100% again.
Thursday - bike
Did the 13.3 mile "farm loop" ride with Scott today. It was actually cool when we started! SO nice - I can't wait until fall weather is here to stay. Ended up with some great speed, average 16.3mph moving. Felt good!
Friday - yoga
Yogaaahhhhhh :)
....and then the weekend was crap. Saturday was our chorus show and Scott was riding in a gravel road cyclocross race, so he had to leave early in the morning and I just was running around all morning trying to get ready for the show. It went great, but I was exhausted by the end of the day! And then Sunday, Scott left for a business trip and D's nap schedule was all off-kilter, so I didn't get to work in a run Sunday either. OH WELL.
This coming week I'm single-momming it for 2 days then we leave for Orlando for vacation for the rest of the week/weekend. So while we plan to do active stuff, it will likely be highly unstructured!
