Overheard Workplace Conversation
It's kinda hot today. Even with the air conditioner pumping, a handful of people have slipped their shoes off. We're not really in a customer-facing office, but people do drop by occasionally and the boss likes everyone to be presentable at all times. Shoes are one of her big bugabears.
T is a new employee.
A: -hangs up phone- "Okay, the boss is coming for a visit. K, do you have your shoes on?"
K: "I'll put them on right now. Hmm, I should go spread the word." -gets up, goes into hallway- "Hey, T. You need to put your shoes on."
T: "Okay. Why?"
K: "There is only one reason we put shoes on in this office."
T: "Did somebody pee?"
