Oh no! I made enough money last year that I actually have to like, pay real taxes. Yes, this year I am receiving a grand total of $23 in tax returns from the government. Suddenly I find myself caring about things I didn't give a shit about before. Like, say, using taxpayer money to bailout the auto companies. That's MY money! I don't give a shit about the car companies! They got themselves in this mess! And paying for wars in goodness knows how many countries at this point. It wasn't my idea!
But the thing that really burns me is that last year, when I was dying of agonizing stomach problems, all the government could say was "Gosh! I hope you have health insurance, cuz WE sure aren't going to provide any!"
