Cute, cheap, little brick house in Mount Clemens for $24,900
I have told a lot of people about this little house, including my parents. I hope my Mom & Dad look into it. It is exactly one mile from its' front door to my office. I would LOVE to be able to have lunch with Mom & Dad each day! The house is small, the garage is detached and only one car, but the basement is finished (check out the funky floor tile pattern!), and the backyard is HUGE! I drove to the house yesterday after work to check it out. It is so cute! It looks like it was well loved and maintained. Seems like it only needs updating, not repairing. The back yard is big enough that if you really wanted to expand, you could add on another bedroom or two with no problem. A dormer on this house wouldn't look out of line either, since there are so many colonials on the street.
At $24,900 with a $5,000 (20%) down payment, 10 year fixed rate mortgage at 6%, the monthly payment on this guy would only be $211.00. No PMI, but of course you gotta figure in property taxes too, but heck, for around $450.00 per month, it is cheaper than renting a two bedroom apartment! And it would be paid off in ten years!
And I am sure that if I tried really hard, I could hit Blair's house with a frisbee if I was standing on the roof of this house.
And it is in Mount Clemens. I love Mount Clemens. I was born here, and I have worked here for the past 12 years in one office or another. It is a great little town.
