I haven't been on this thingy in forever, so I figured I'd just update and see who notices. I wish we'd get more snow. I loved it when it snowed a week or so ago. Too bad it didn't last. I did get to build a snowman though, which was neato. and me and Rach and Manda played around in the snow, and went for a walk down to campus and back. The college people in this town are rediculous. I think that every fraternity/Sorority(sp) had a snowball fight that evening, and the snowmen they built on the M.U. lawn were... interesting, to say the least. *shakes head* Whatever. I went to a powow just this last friday with my family and Rach. I always go every year, but this was Rach's first one. It was really cool just like always, though this year there weren't as many merchandise booths. The stuff they sell there can be really cool, but some times it feels like a rummage sale to me, because one or two of the booths just seem to have an attitude that's like "I don't care if this has anything to do with being Native American, I just want to make a buck, so I'm gonna sell cheap crap" It's kinda depressing. However the booths aren't the only reason I go. I go to watch the dancers. Now that is cool. I get to see people in (mostly) traditional costumes, dancing the way my ancestors did, and I get to hear the singing and drumming that goes with it. This year was particularly neat beacause there were more dancers than last year. It was pretty cool. Rach liked it too. We are thinking of going to a powowat W.O.U. in February. It should be fun.
