What a morning

Oh my, what a morning I have had.  It started out fairly normally, I woke up gave Chris a hug and brushed my teeth.  Then I realized I really had to go to the restroom (which is fairly normal for first thing in the morning), but then the trouble began.  I went to the restroom, but the toilet wouldn't stop running, and I soon realized that it was running, but not filling.  However, soon after that Chris knocked on the door, and informed me that somehow the running of the toilet in the front bathroom led to a flooding of the rear bathroom.  Now, this isn't the first time we've had flooding problems in these bathrooms.  In fact it is the third or fourth time.  We keep following their rules for preventing flooding, but we keep having flooding problems.  So, I spent the next 30-45 minutes mopping up the bathroom floor, calling the property manager to report it, and to get a plumber out.  Of course, I couldn't take a shower without risking more flooding, so I was unable to do that, and my plan to come into school early and do some work was shot to hell.

Then I throw on my clothes, pack a lunch and head to the bus.

The bus ride was it's own adventure.  The bus driver almost rear ends two different cars.  Thankfully he didn't actually hit either one, however, each time he slammed on the brakes which sent all of us passengers flying.  I'm just glad the bus wasn't completely full.  We would have had people flying everywhere.

However, I did see one really funny thing while we were driving.  There is this strip mall near us that has a very very very pooly designed parking lot.  (It's the one with the Co-op and CiCi's pizza for those of you familiar with Riverside).  What is so poorly designed about it is that when you approach the edge of that lot, it is really hard to tell where there is driveway (so a smooth decline) and where the isn't (so an approximately 6 inch drop).  Well, some poor woman missed the driveway this morning.  When I saw her, her front tires were on the sidewalk, her back tires still on the driveway, the six inch drop between the two pairs of tires, and she was on her cell phone probably calling someone for help.  I'm not sure what she was going to do, she definitely couldn't get the car back up the drop, but she was probably going to cause some damage going forward.  I feel bad for her, but it was really funny looking.
