Joan felt tears fill her eyes as she read the letter. Tears of happiness, tears of joy. She loved her husband so very much, and it was true they hadn't been able to spend much time togeher lately, when one of them (usually her) wasn't sleeping. It was the little things he did, things like an unexpected note left on her pillow, that made her smile and over flow with love for him.
She kissed the paper that held his scent just vagually, and folded it to fit in her pocket before she went looking for him. She found him in the garden and stood back, just watching him for a long moment.
He was playing with the children, giving each of them airplane rides. Spinning around in circles holding them in his hands at arms lenght and listening to them laugh and squeel with joy. Finally putting the last one down, and looking a bit dizzy himself, Bliss looked over across the garden and saw Joan. The smile that had been on his face grew ten fold and he started towards her.
She pressed against him, her mouth warm and accepting of his kiss, her hands in his hair. It felt like a million years since she'd felt his arms around her, and it felt so good to be there now.
It felt amazing to have her in his arms, just the two of them. Holding her close, he held one hand on her hip and the other in her hair, while continuing to kiss her. Completely ignoring the catcalls from the children on the other side of the garden.
"Nothing to be sorry for. I know you've been busy with school and Serenity keeps us both hopping. And I've been busy around here." Kissing her forehead before looking her in the eyes, "I love every moment we get together."
