*And the marquis de Carabas wakes up after almost twenty hours, much more slowly than usual--a gradual awakening that he does not mind, stirring slightly and puzzled to find himself stretched out, head resting on his arms.

Sits up, blinking somewhat at how relaxed he still feels, reflecting that he doesn't regret thanking Richard for this in retrospect, as the difference is really rather amazing*

*Richard himself is still in the room; in fact, sleeping next to de Carabas, though facing away from him. He had pottered about the room for a while, trying not to wake up, and at one point Richard decided to move in - out of a combination of fear for the marquis disappearing and wanting to make sure he slept - and so he did*

*... Blinking at him. This. Is new. And somewhat amusing, or he's certain it will be after he gets over the utter surprise* Well, that is certainly new.

*Still sleeping. And doesn't look like he's going to wake up, unless he is made to*

*... Is getting up and going to make some sort of proper breakfast, then. Which is just domestic enough to push him into remembering that yes, this is all extremely amusing*

*Well, you might eventually be awoken by the smell of food, actual coffee, and the sounds of utensils. The marquis has adapted admirably to his new environment over the past however long XD*

*... Okay, waking up now, and looks over to see if the Marquis is there. And he isn't. So Richard follows the smell and sounds of food, looking even more rumpled than usual* Hello. Whas'suh time...?

Almost one o'clock in the afternoon. *Finishing up and has two plates, setting them at the table without really looking at Richard, not seeming to be avoiding him but just naturally not looking at him at all* Think of this as payment, for the favour.

Huh. Slept late, then. *Yawns and stretches, scratches the back of his neck* Favour...? Oh, you mean the massage. Don't worry about it. Glad I could- *yawn* - glad I could help.

Not as late as I did. *Not complaining, just a bit of wryness to his tone* I'm hardly worried. But I must give you credit, Richard, you were a great deal of help. *And this offering really thanks him more clearly than the marquis can bring himself to do >.>*

You needed more sleep than me. *Smiles and sits down, picking up his cutlery to eat* Glad I could. Jess said I gave good massages... *But falls quiet, then, because Jess and de Carabas are not two people he wants to think about at the same time*

*Slips into his own seat, flashing Richard an amused grin* Well, she hardly gave you a worthy compliment, then. *And if that's a major compliment, it's sort of half-hidden, though obvious if one looks even slightly for it* I expected you must have had experience somewhere...

It was enough. *Does miss Jess, a bit, though he knows he won't go back to her even if he has the chance. He did have the chance, once, and he didn't take it*

*Bows his head for a moment, in a nod of acknowledgement, then is just going to eat and haha the food is Not Bad considering he probably learned to cook while he was here and it's amazing what mass amounts of spare time not sleeping will afford one*
