ok, so drama club is still trying to save money for states (which is in 10 days, woot, woot!). last night, we had a lip synch show, where people got up on stage and, uhm, lip synched. and it was good and we made a lot of money. the reason that most of the kids came was to see the last act, which was three teachers (including one of my drama teachers, mr. mass) doing hey ya...
here's the problem: during Les Mis rehearsal yesterday, this dumb fuck sean tripped down the stairs and ate the ground, but on his way down, he knocked the lap top and the light panel onto the floor, breaking the light panel. that means that turning the lights on and off becomes a two person job: one person is in the house shouting cues over the headset and one person is in the control room actually doing shit. about halfway through the show, mr maas told me that he couldnt have a student in the control room because it was too high voltage, and i flipped out because that meant that he couldnt go onstage for hey ya, and the other two teachers wouldnt go without him. and then, he looked at me and said:
You're going on for me.
and i looked at him like he was crazy, because i had never practiced with these people. plus, ms lutwinm the other drama teacher, would have my head because i hadnt been at rehearsal, and she doesnt like surprises. but all these kids did come to see teachers sing OutKast, and the two teachers wouldnt go on without a third person (because they didnt know the words), so.. i..went on stage... and made up the entire thing on the spot... and it was awesome.
