Yep, "Snakes on a Plane" was completely awesome. Thank God. Seriously. See it. Sam Jackson is everything he should be, the snakes are badass and insane, the violence is gross and excessive, and even the parts without the snakes on the plane are great. All the passengers fit these perfect clichés, the dialogue is perfect ("I need you to be strong for me"), and the ending shot is just so hilariously genius. If you appreciate hilarious action movies, this one's so perfect for you.
So camp is over. Pretty wild. Another summer added to the pile. Festival Day was fantastic. For a change, all three classes I taught were all really well received. Theater of the Absurd and Video Comedy both got really great reactions for a change. And Mockumentary as well. I got some pretty great reactions to that, like Sarah Gottlieb's mom telling me I corrupted her daughter (jokingly), Adam Brooks telling me that this movie had a certain bite to it that the other movies don't have, and best of all, Toby telling me that "I really nailed it this time." That's pretty amazing for two reasons:
(1) Toby generally doesn't even come to videos on Festival Day
(2) I got nervous when he came, because I didn't think he'd like the fact that this movie had jokes about diversity, inner-city under-privileged schools, death, children being secretly drugged by their parents, and sexual innuendos (including one particularly suggestive gesture), but I guess he really dug it! He did miss the part when Sarah D'Angelo held up everyone at knife point, though. Oh well. I was really happy that Faith made it to the replay. I really thought this movie was up her alley. But yeah, easily the best Mockumentary yet. A great concept executed by wonderful, wonderful kids. I will miss them all terribly.
So yeah, great CRCAP summer. More stressful than ever, but it's all worth it. So now I have a week before my return to SLC, so I better see all of you. But now, I'm going to watch the first season finale of "Lost." Thank God.
