Well, since everyone has been posting their class evaluations on here, I thought I'd join in. I got my last evaluation today, this is the one I've been waiting for:
Course:
SOC-3412-S: The Social Politics of Ornithology Applied to Cultural Boundaries
Report for the Spring semester of 2005-2006
Teacher(s): Jeffrey Sandborn
Owen brought focus and determination to his work in this seminar. He showed coherent signs of cohesiveness, as well as expressing himself through his margin notes. His engagement with the readings proved a bit inconsistent, but his understaning of the social hierarchies of bird species such as the red hawk and the mute swans proved substantial and insubstantial at the same time. A rare first. I think he somtimes exhibited trouble joining in the class discussions when it came to waterfowls, but his abilities to draw comparisons between barn owl socialism and the politics surrounding the great Chicago Fire were unmatched only by some. The rough draft of his conference paper was kind of gay, but by the first draft he had presented a convincing layout of the Crested Shelducks' involvement in modern North Korean politics. I would encourage Owen to go deeper in his thinking and apply himself further, perhaps using more of his five senses. Overall it was a joy to have Owen in the class, and I hope he will continue applying the social politics of ornithology to cultural boundaries.
So there ya go. I'm pretty happy with this, this was one of the harder courses I've had at SLC...Though I encourage you all to take it if you can.
Camp starts this week, finally. Let's go there.
