Garage Sales PWN!

Jun 25, 2005 12:40

So my broskie and i went to Chelsea's garage sale and i found this funny looking book called "Parents, UGH!" I thought the title was hilarious, it reminded me of Christy and I waking up in the morning and just yelling "UGHHHH!" to eachother or saying it when we were supposed to do chores or something. I can't wait for her to come home! A year is a long time. Anyway here is part of the last chapter:

Maturity is not expecting everything to go your own way.
Maturity is being able to accept criticism.
Maturity is having a goal in life and working toward it.
Maturity is being dependable, being able to take responsibility.
Maturity is being able to face the hard things of life without collapsing or giving up.
Maturity is gaining control of your temper and not acting out your hostile feelings.
Maturity is being able to love God, yourself, and others.
Maturity is living with reality.
Maturity is being able to give of yourself.
Maturity is being able to stick with things until they're done.
Maturity is making a decision and standing by it.
Maturity is getting satisfaction from both giving and receiving.
Maturity is being honest with yourself and others.
Maturity is making the best use of your energies and abilities.
Maturity is being able to set limits for yourself and for others.
Maturity is being able to handle your fears and anxieties.
Maturity is not being critical of other people or hard to live with.
Maturity is being able to take disappointment.
Maturity is disciplining yourself.
Maturity is respecting yourself - with a proper dash of humility.
Maturity is realizing that you are not perfect, but that God loves you anyway, and that you can love yourself.
"It's something to work at the rest of your life. Have fun as a teenager, and plan to have fun as an adult. Life is good."
