childhood memories: reimagined
Arashi fandom, Tumblr, I don’t have images to go with this feeling, but I know that some of you out there will understand.
Today, while watching VS Arashi Spring SP from last year, Sakai Masaaki was the guest for Dual Curling. They made a joke about him holding the stick because of his role as Monkey in an old version of Journey to the West, of which I know there are approximately a million versions.
However, because I vaguely remembered that after thinking the version I watched when I was little, Monkey Magic, was actually Japanese (after I had thought it was Thai and Chinese and various other nationalities), I decided to look it up.
And I’ll be damned.
Monkey Magic, a hero of my childhood, is the same damn guy who hosts Chubaw Desu-yo.
