tuesday night was wonderful. after unsuccessfully puting together a shower hanger thing (which is clearly a man's job) at annette's new place, i went to LA with some of the gals and the drive there was so magical. we listened and sang along to janglin by edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros. arriving into the city at night was beautiful; i guess there is no way i could describe how good it felt in that moment.
wednesday i took a day trip to LA by myself before going in to work. i listened to songs like:
lionkiller got married (cass macombs)
everybody cares, everybody understands (elliott smith)
happiness is a warm gun (the beatles)
new spell (cryptasize)
you don't know where your interest lies (simon and garfunkel)
it was a marvelous trip...the sky had big, puffy clouds and the tall buildings looked majestic in front of the snowy mountains.
later that night i went to my friend erik's place. we watched diana krall on dvd and then listened to some other stuff. he showed me this song by the beatles that i had nevcr heard before, which was pretty hilarious and would make anyone laugh. i hadn't cracked up that hard in a long time.
on the way back from the bank this morning, i came across a song i've never heard before- criticism as inspiration by pedro the lion- and it actually made me cry. but anyway, i'm going to see edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros tonight for a haiti benefit. their album, up from below, is pretty hip and fun to sing along to. well whomever is reading this: have a wonderful day and God bless you!
