My my my!! Aren't you changing in leeps and bounds in the art department.

I love your line work, very clean, very nice! It is very clear that grey has been an awesome teacher, and that he is rubbing his artistic awesome onto you.

But I would like to add a critique, I'm not a huge fan of you digital coloring yet. I'd love to get a set of watercolor pencils in your hands, I think they would do some amazing things to your growing art style. It would give your flats an added texture and give some more life to what you are doing.

However, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3137406 that is a great step into giving your work life, simple, natural shades.

This too http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2727025/ very awesome, but all the white hurts my eyes and really distracts from the nice clean angular shading you did. Crop it in closer if you are ok with that.

Perhaps my issue is that it doesn't look like you are working with a tablet yet (please correct me if I am wrong). You are putting so much effort into getting such awesome lines that describe texture and digitally you aren't living up to what I'd love to see from your inspired growth. Watercolor pencils will allow you to create some penciled texture in the shadows and add a little water with a small tipped paintbrush and you can pull the color from the shading and it will lighten and smooth toward the parts of the form that are catching the light. I think you would greatly benefit from it. The major plus is that they use so very little water that you don't have to go out and buy any special papers, it will work on printer paper, sketch paper, the usual. probably not on tissue paper (obviously) ;)

I still have a blick arts discount card, let me know if you'd like to give it a try and I can get you a student's set. I know for my B-day I want to get a quality set to play with.

I totally know what you mean. I dont even have a tablet and well... digital art makes me so very very angry to do. But I don't have any other medium really to work with.

I'm pretty much kinda sorta scared to color up anything due to ruining the ink.

But trust me hun, I completely understand where you're coming from.

never fear the color :) I have prismacolor pencils I could lend you for a while!! I have lots of them to spare and I'm not using them all that much. Then you won't have to fear ruining the inks.

Let me know when you want to give color a try, I will lend my knowledge and encouragement.
