Reading a Feynman book at the moment. Feynman was a personality of physics, well known (in physicist circles) for being involved in the manhatten project, playing bongos, cracking safes on military bases and chasing skirt. Basically every physics student wants to be him because he's cool in a nerdy way. Plus he totally met Niels Bohr. How awesome is that. Anyway Mr Feynman also helped look into the cause of the challenger disaster and lots of other things so if you've never heard of him then look into him a bit. Maybe try and find some of his books,they are generally geared toward people who aren't degree level theoretical physicists so you should be alright.
