Rapidash is back in his ball and Chika-chan is helping Tohru to the room. By the time they're stepping through the door neither one of them are prepared for the sight that greets them.

Except for Glaceon every Pokemon in the room lifts their head to look at their trainer at the same time.]

She looks a lot like she's just been put on stage and told to recite lines that she hasn't even memorized yet, trying to look determined while still looking anxious about her first gym leader battle. [The fire horse emerges in a flash of red, already primed and ready for battle. They might seem similar in some aspects of personality, but when it comes to battle the gym leader has the most experience and won't hesitate to show it. Jasmine doesn't waste a second, going immediately on the offensive, pointing at the target.]

Ah! Dodge it, Rapidash! Then use Flame Wheel! [Nerves almost look like they're going to get the better of Tohru. Truthfully there was no real need to dodge the attack, Rapidash was strong enough that the hit would have barely done any damage, but Tohru wasn't taking chances. He's got the advantage of speed, so has no trouble executing her instructions immediately. The steel bird is hit head on and goes down fast. There's a brief moment of elation that crosses Tohru's face before--]
Properly tempered steel won't be made rusty by things like this!
[--there's no time to celebrate or worry, Magneton is next. Tohru recalled Rapidash and sends out one of her new additions next. It's the first time he's being debuted on the network for everyone to see and he is ready to EFF SHIT UP.]

Garchomp, use Dig!
[Garchomp doesn't have the same level advantage that Rapidash does, his speed isn't up to Magneton's par. It's a direct hit, making Tohru panic for a moment as the attack kicks up a cloud of dust and dirt. The feed view shakes as the whole arena is rocked with the force, even Meganium is a little shaken fron it, off screen.]

[When the cloud begins to settle there's no immediate sign of the dragon Pokemon, putting Jasmine and Magneton on guard, but the attack is coming from below. Garchomp is completely unphased by electric type attacks and used the confusion to burrow under anyway. Now he's exploding from the ground and easily making full body contact with his opponent. The hit is four times as effective! Another one-hit K.O. This time even though Tohru is still on guard at least Meganium has a moment to cheer for his fellow 'Mon, but Jasmine isn't done yet. In fact, she just looks more confident than ever.]
Steel will hang on to the very last! Steelix!
Okay, Garchomp, return! Chika-chan? [She takes the gear and there's a brief glimpse of Tohru smiling before it focuses on the grass type and her voice once again comes off screen.] It's your turn.
[Nevermind that Meganium doesn't have any sort of type advantage, or even know any moves that are doubly effective types, almost CHEERFULLY he heads out to the field as Garchomp returns to Tohru's side. He's dwarfed by the thirty foot steel snake, but doesn't look at all intimidated-- just the opposite.]

Don't let that attack hit you, Chika-chan! Dodge it!
[And dodge he will. For a few moments that's actually most of what the Meganium does. The attacks are doing a number on the gym before finally it sees the opening it needs and signals to his trainer.]

[Yeah, Steelix doesn't stand a chance. All eight hundred and eighty pounds of it plays against him as Chika-chan's vines shoot out to tangle around it's massive body, tripping it up. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall." is put into action with a thundering crash. Tohru, Jasmine, and any other Pokemon present besides the two on the battle field can be heard yelling in surprise as the sudden heavy impact knocks everyone off their feet. The gear has fallen out of Tohru's hands and picks up a view of her rubbing her back a little.]

[The gear is retrieved then, focusing quickly back on the clearing dust.
Chika-chan, the HAM THAT HE IS, has taken perch on Steelix's neck and is striking a regal pose, neck arched proudly. Steelix is down for the count and Jasmine's gym is looking a little bit... er... beaten up. Still, the gym leader only smiles, knowing she's been beaten. She approaches a now standing, dazed looking Tohru with her prizes in hand. The view of the gear swivels quickly in accordance to the change in focus.]
Well done...You are a better Trainer than me, in both skill and kindness. In accordance with League rules, I confer upon you this Badge.
[The badge and HM are passed over and placed into Tohru's waiting hand. Chika-chan, returning to his trainer's side, retrieves the gear to capture the moment.

As mentioned before, if you read the pre-gym ramblings, there is an assortment of eggs occupying the entirety of Tohru’s bed and then also the comfortable chair that has been pulled to rest beside it. Tohru is standing to the side of the bed just within view of the gear, hands clasped in front of her looking over them all. Glaceon and Pandamink are guarding them protectively, as they have been since Tohru left to take on the gym.]

I promised Takatori-san one of the Ponyta eggs, and I have a few that I already sent out to friends, but there are a lot more that need some place to stay! I’m not asking for anything in return, just that they go to good homes and trainers that will care for them! I have Eevee, Ponyta, Gible, Sentret, and Charmander eggs that need safe homes.
