I'm so giddy!
I have a neighbor across the street (a mom in her early 30s) with two little girls (ages 6 and 4, I think). About a week ago I gave them a DVD of the film I worked on,
"The Firefly and the Stars", and they just watched it tonight for the first time. As soon as they were done, the little girls called me! They were telling me they liked the movie and that they looooved the firefly (the younger girl's favorite character was the squirrel, though). Then the mom spoke to me and she was beyond words. She sounded so excited! She couldn't believe I had worked in the project, drawn all the characters, and how cute they were, and she was wondering whether I had made more films! I told her this was our first, and that hopefully we can get more done in the near future...but wow, I couldn't believe it. So yeah, it was really nice to get feedback...especially from children!
That just made my night :D
In other news, I'm baking banana bread right now...Alex and I were invited to go hang out at a friend's cottage over the weekend! We'll be a group of 10-15 people, I believe...should be fun :) I plan to bring the banana bread with us so we can eat it on the road or something.
Here's the recipe I use; I've been baking it on and off for about 3 years now and it's super easy to make:
