I carry a cell phone so I can be reached if I am not at home or in my office. It has voice mail so that if I am unable to answer, I can get a message as soon as I am able to. I'm sure these are among the same reasons given by most people for carrying a mobile phone.
These reasons are obviously lost on Verizon.
Last last week, when my co-worker phoned me at home for a small hard-ware problem, I really didn't think much of it when she asked if I got her voice-mail and I hadn't. I looked at the phone, and it didn't show any waiting voice-mail, nor did it show a missed call, but shit happens.
But Sunday, when D said she called my cell phone, which was on my desk in plain view, and it never rang, I got suspicious. This morning, when she called it again, and left a voice-mail, it still showed no missed calls or voice-mail indicators. When it finally rang this afternoon, the ring tone and voice-mail beep were almost one in the same.
So when I called in to check the voice-mails, the 2 indicated voice-mails, imagine my surprise when one of them was my co-worker from late last week! And then the blast from the past as previously "deleted" voice-mails from random intervals played back through my ears!
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot batman?
Verizon assured me there was no problem with their system, and that both my calls and voice-mails were coming through promptly, and being deleted as indicated, but they would put some sort of watch on the line, and if I had any further problems, to call them back.
Grrrr ... listen Asshat, if the message is left on Thursday, and I get it on Tuesday, I don't consider that to be prompt! I understand there may be a slight delay, but I do not consider days, or even hours, to be a SLIGHT delay. Not to mention that I expect to actually GET my calls into my phone! And so help me, if I have to call back there to make these things happen, I am not going to be anywhere near as agreeable as I was today.
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW MOTHERFUCKER???
