I wish every weekend was a long weekend. Three sleep-ins, to start with ...
The weekend started with dinner with Mel's mothers' group on Friday night - their group always throws "baby showers" for all the members when they're, well, having a baby, and although Melanie's never really "believed" in baby showers and therefore hasn't had one, but the mother's group insisted. Rather than a traditional shower we went out to dinner at Baan Thai - just the mothers' group and me. Thai's not really my thing, but it was a nice night. I thought I'd be home by 9-9.30 and didn't end up walking through the front door till 11.30 after dropping Melanie home!
Then Saturday mum, dad and I went to see Sweeney Todd. We really enjoyed, although dad hates Tim Burton and didn't realise it was one of his films until his name popped up in the opening credits. He blamed me, naturally.
Sunday I went over to Jane's for the first time since she got back from the US - she gave me Disneyland goodies, showed me all her photos (1500 of them! She said I was the first person to make it through them, but I love holiday photos) and regaled me with stories. She LOVED San Francisco and New York.
Yesterday Mel, Ross and the boys came over for a barbecue and swim - we had a really nice long swim and played "Marco Polo". The water was almost too warm! And now, it's back to work ... and, unfortunately, back to school, which means a lot of traffic. I left home 25 minutes earlier than I had been and got here at the same time, but actually the traffic didn't drive me nuts too much, because I was expecting it. Get back to me after a week of it and see how I feel then ...
Oh and speaking of school my nephew Angus starts grade 1 today, but he's so little!!
