life is slooooooooow

as the title of the entry suggests, my life is rather dull at the moment. nothing special seems to be happening and it's a little unnerving. i would like to have a job, and i would like to be a bit more exciting... but it just seems to have slowed to a near halt. i guess that's what happens sometimes. i've been approached for advice by a few of my friends which hasn't happened in a while, but it's nice to know that i can still be of assistance. i like being the guy people can turn to. it comforts me.

i went to a job interview for ups. didn't go to well... have to go again because i didn't wear boots so that they could show me around... that and i didn't have 2 forms of valid ID. also, i felt like a real tool cus i dressed up really nice and then the lady told me i didn't have to... so next time i go there i should just dress comfortably. will do, cus i really don't like dressing up like that. i look good, but it's just too stuffy for me. that's why i really want a job doing customer service or something. i like working with ppl. i've had a lot of friends tell me that it's not all that it's cracked up to be, but i like people. i've dealt with jerks and such but the real thing is that it would be dynamic and different every day... sort of like a wavering set schedule... i'd be doing the same thing every day, but it would still be different in view of the various people that would come in. that's my ideal job... that or something with my youth group, but we're working on that too ;).

youth group is going well. i like the freshmen this year, and not just because my sister is among them. a lot of them seem really cool and willing to participate. although, i do agree with them on one thing: phil's game last sunday wsa kinda gross... it was like hot potato, but the things being passed were jars of baby food, and if you ended up with one of the jars when the music stopped, you had to take a bite. needless to say, it was very gross. i took a bite just to build confidence with the kids, and it took everything i had to keep a straight face. blech... but the rest of the night was the sundae night which rocked. this was probably the messiest year i've ever seen. usually it's just whipped cream and other toppings being thrown around. this year people were hurling handfuls of ice cream. one of them even splattered on the statue of mary by memorial hall, but we cleaned it all up with a hose that i found out how to hook up :-D. go me.

the SHS football team has lost all my respect. bless their hearts for trying but it's just ridiculous now. actually, that's not fair to them. the team plays hard, but i blame the coach. for those of you that know me, i've always blamed the coach, so i can't say i lost respect for him mainly because i never HAD respect for him in the first place. last night they lost 14-17 to dover, the only other team in the conference with an 0-3 record. here's where i blame the coach for that loss; 2 reasons. one: he managed to call plays that led a 70 yard drive down the field to a first and goal on the one yard line. that's right, the one yard line. last quarter, first and goal, one yard line, 20 seconds to go. first play, qb sneak... doesn't work, clock is running... try again, offsides on dover, now only a half of a yard left... last play of the game: toss sweep to the outside, kid drops the ball, time runs out. now the first reason i blame him is: WHO THE HELL RUNS A TOSS SWEEP WHEN YOU ONLY NEED TO TRAVEL A HALF OF A YARD TO THE GOAL LINE?!?! true, the o-line wasn't that strong and might not have had the ability to push the defense back, but then that's the other reason i blame him for the loss. he's a great play organizer, but he has NO idea what it takes to train a physical team. when my brother and i were in high school, that team was in peak physical condition. we had linemen that could run circles around some of the opposing team's running backs. these guys? they're big, but they're not nearly as strong nor are they as fast. you have to train the whole team to be able to run, nay sprint, on EVERY down of EVERY quarter of EVERY game on both sides of the ball. that's when you'll win. that's it for my venting on this topic... it just bugs me to see the team go down the toilet like this.

i've been playing a really cool game recently. for those of you who know it, you probably know it as "mafia", except this version instead of civilians and gangsters, the titles "sheep" and "wolves" are used. it's a game that i found on the website of the movie "Cry_Wolf". it's pretty fun, and i enjoy playing it. i guess i just miss mafia parties with my drama club/choir buddies back in high school. also, my checking account is empty so my dragon's gate account is down for a while. i just hope i can get money in to my checking account so i can open it back up before it shuts down for good.

it's getting cold. that means a few things:
-NCYC is coming
-so is haloween
-so is winter
-so is the winter retreat
-so is christmas and new years
-new year is the year i turn 21!!!!

and just so you all know.... i am Lion-O.

that says it for justin

peace out
