Singapore idol grand finals
omg.when i close my eyes i can still see the stage, the lights and the crowd...and feel the energy coursing through my veins...
ok it was quite an experience to be standing there and singing though we were supposed to be only heard and not seen... its quite exciting when u are behind the stage and hearing gurmit say" we will be on air in 5,4,3,2, hi and welcome back to singapore idol..." haha everyone was so excited we kept wanting to go pee...then the spot lights are so bright i thought i was gonna go blind... and your legs can break ah... u noe ah advertisment time we all stand there like idiots ok and hear gurmit sing his oh macdonald had a farm... and then its really quite different at the stadium cos when there was a longer advertisment break gurmit shouted to the crowd "ok ppl 3,2,1... GO TOILET!" then u see this swarm of bodies moving towards the exits...hahahaha so funny.... and time backstage passes so quickly... u hear the produces going "faster, faster, you have 3 minutes... 2 and a half..." then its like everything rush rush but has to be perfect really quite stressful ah... so unlike ppl at home just shake legs damn relaxing ah...
i've never followed sgidol till now... and i must say i liked sly quite alot during the 2 days encounter with him... i mean not crazy crazy like la but i feel that as a person he is quite nice... cos he's very obliging even when the produces rush him...he write very lame messages though...mine was: Joy to the rocker! rock on with sly...(like wth la...lame sia...) the other idols would usually not refuse too but there's just this warmth abt him la i dunno...so glad i managed to take a photo with him!
and quote dick lee"taufik, taufik baby baby" unquote rocks omg his voice is so suave so beautiful so...i cant describe it la... his me and mrs jones was honestly the best i've heard so far... who cares who the hell is mrs jones man...
and its really hard to pick from the both of them cos i want them both to win but there can be only ONE singapore idol right... undoubtly taufik has better vocals but sly has crowd appeal sort of the X-factor and the being able to relate to ppl thing...argh its just so hard to choose between them... and i cheered for both... and sly can sing la its just diff kind of voice his i dream was really nice... like really ah...
and i think we're sososososo lucky to be the choir singing for this event cos we seriously had really close contact with many ppl the idols,Djs, judges and stuff... its like we got backstage pass then we somemore share make up and hair styling room with them... so its like the person doing hair beside you is like an idol la... for me it was jeassea... she smiled at me and she was so pretty! darn i didnt get her autograph cos i felt bad to ask her la... but i think she sings really well... she's really idol material la...and u noe behind the scenes and their oh-so-cool image, the idols are really like us... as in taufik is damn cok la... he actually declined taking photos cos he said "i havent do my hair yet eh..." then i was like ahyah u look damn cute already la... then he agreed to take... haha damn cok... and christopher really damn flirtatious and is always seen hanging ard girls but he's really friendly... imagine how many ppl would die to be in our places *chuckles* arent i evil???
i really must say that the idols are so lucky we're not like die-hard siao fans or else ah we'll be like gg crazy when we see them... and they are really good frens too u noe back stage before sly performs, taufik would give him an encouraging slap on the back and they even share water before going to sing...i also felt it was really generous of taufik to let sly share the limelight on the last i dream la... and the idols were all sniffing behind before that's what friends are for... u can really see they bonded la and i think they are so natural on stage...
and gurmit has to be the most cok person ever... but he's a true comedian la... at the rehersal he was practically having fun la talking cok but still making us laugh... he was like [referring to spot light] "why does it keep following me? not even a second of privacy... and whu spot? is it a dog?" [then he goes to hide and purposely tries to miss the spot... "aha! i've ditched it...cant find me now.." its seriously damn funny la... then there was this other one where he was like" u noe when u are doing a live show you have to be prepared for everything and anything... then you have to keep on talking even if *switches of screen* your TV has a blackout i'll still be talking and *turns off backgrd music* even if the music stops playing... eh even the music stopped ah... i win sia..."damn funny la... and at the end when we went to get his autographs, he was like "eh how did u ppl get in... oh you're te choir, not so slow there..."
it was really fun working with them la... and its an experience of a life time...oh the food they gave us sucks man... haha ok no more complains... gg to slp now am still tired you noe...*yawn*
li, am so sorry i couldnt give you the tickets cos u told me too late... but i gotu some stuff frm the place that only backstage ppl can get... hope u like them ok... and NO i didnt beg, steal or borrow the stuff...hhahahaha
