One Thing We Did on our Summer Vacation
COMPOST BIN!!
For years I have wanted one. And having a bunch of bunnies means I have
left over greens (stuff I won't feed them) and hay. Plus I have many garden
beds. So I NEED a compost bin!
Andrew put it together and it is really tall. When I cleaned the patio recently,
I moved a wheelbarrow full of water and beneath it was a mud pile that was home to many worms. I scooped them up (not easy to do actually) and put
them and the mud in the flower pot seen above. And for the final necessary
component: the "brown material", I swiped a bag of yard waste from my
neighbor in the middle of the night! (Not like they don't already think I'm
a weirdo with cat hostel I have going....)
Next year I should have some dirt gold for the garden and I'm being all green
at the same time! Woo-hoo!
