“What is wrong with you?” Jaejoong stopped fidgeting and glanced at Changmin, who was standing at the doorway with a cup of coffee in his hands. He placed his planner down onto his desk and clenched his fists, “Nothing’s wrong with me -“

“Don’t lie.” Changmin muttered as he placed the cup of coffee onto Jaejoong’s desk. “I can read you perfectly, you know? What happened?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

The younger man rolled his eyes, “Fine then, be difficult.” He crossed his arms and stared down at Jaejoong, “Well there’s someone outside to meet you. Should I let him in now or -“

“I don’t want to see Yunho!”

Changmin raised an eyebrow, “Excuse me?”

“I - I meant, what?” Jaejoong stuttered, well aware that his face was heating up in embarrassment. He swallowed hard and glanced at the door before he turned his eyes back to Changmin’s face. “Who’s there?”

Changmin narrowed his eyes, “You know what? I’m just going to go deal with this guy myself. You don’t look so good - go home, and don’t come back until you’re ready to tell me about what’s wrong.”

“Hey, I’m your boss!” Jaejoong argued, “You can’t just tell me what to do!”

Just as he was about to open the door, Changmin turned around. He shot Jaejoong an uninterested look, “I’m also your friend, so that gives me more than enough right to tell you when you’re acting weird. Go home Jaejoong.”

“I’m meeting Ara today.” Jaejoong replied, “I can’t just go home.” His heart pounded in his chest as he remembered the fact that he’d kissed the fiancé of his client.

Oh God, he was a homewrecker, wasn’t he? Jaejoong paled at the thought, and although Yunho had been the one to start it, he’d enjoyed it and he’d even kissed the other man back.

“Yeah, I think you should go home.” Changmin opened the door, “I’ll deal with Yunho’s best man -“

“What, Yunho’s here?”

Changmin shut the door immediately and crossed his arms. “No, I said that his best man was here - Park Yoochun.” He frowned at Jaejoong, “Now tell me what’s bothering you.”

Jaejoong shook his head and ran his hands through his hair, “It’s nothing.” He sighed and stared at Changmin apologetically, “I’m sorry, please don’t worry about me. I’ll be okay. Make sure to inform Mr. Park about all his duties, okay?”

“Yeah, don’t worry…” Changmin eyed Jaejoong warily. “If you feel ill, then take something before you meet Ara later, okay?”

“I’m not ill, so don’t worry.”

Changmin sighed and strode out of the room, “You know what? The more you tell me to not worry, I worry more. You will tell me what’s wrong with you over dinner later!” The door slammed shut, and Jaejoong let his face fall into his hands.

Yunho hadn’t bothered to call, and Jaejoong was filled with so much guilt, frustration and disappointment that he didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know what to say, and he didn’t know how he was supposed to feel, but most importantly, he had one huge concern that he could not stop thinking about.

How was he going to face Ara later?

“Good morning, I’m Shim Changmin.” Changmin shook the other man’s hand and led him over to a nearby table, “I’m Mr. Kim’s assistant and because he has other things to attend to, I’ll be meeting with you today.”

“Ah, I see.” Yoochun smiled and leaned back into his chair, “Well, I’m glad he has other things to attend to. You look like you’re more my type than he is.”

Changmin rolled his eyes, “Let’s keep things professional, shall we?”

“Why? I’m not paying you.” Yoochun chuckled huskily, “Come on, we’re going to be spend quite a few hours of our day together. Wouldn’t it be more interesting if -“

“As Mr. Jung’s best man, there are several duties you have to attend to.” Changmin pushed a paper towards Yoochun, “You’ll need to help him choose his tuxedo, help organize his bachelor party, and help him keep the other groomsmen informed about what’s happening.”

Yoochun’s eyes raked over the paper before he lifted them to look at Changmin.

“Okay.”

Changmin blinked. “What do you mean okay? Don’t you have any questions?” he gripped his pen a little tighter, “You need to take this seriously. This is your best friend’s wedding and -“

Yoochun laughed, “You seem tired.” He ignored Changmin’s glare and continued, “Well, how would you like it if you and I went out for coffee and cake? You look like someone that appreciates good food and coffee.”

Changmin swallowed hard, “I told you -“

“Lighten up Changmin.” Yoochun’s grin widened, “I am allowed to call you that, right? You can all me Yoochun by the way. I don’t like people calling me Mr. Park, it makes me feel old.”

“Mr. Park -“

“I told you, call me Yoochun.”

“You do realize that Mr. Jung’s wedding is going to occur in a few days, right?” Changmin asked, “You can’t just play around. It’s an important time for him, and as a friend, you should take your responsibilities seriously.”

“I am taking them seriously.” Yoochun replied, “I’ve already planned his bachelor party, and I’ll be going out with Yunho sometime soon to look for his suit. Don’t worry about it.”

Changmin frowned. “So why did you come here today if you already knew what you were supposed to do?”

“A friend of mine had Jaejoong plan her wedding a few months ago, and I heard from her that you had nice legs.” Yoochun glanced Changmin’s legs, “I have to say, she was right.”

Changmin glared.

“So, shall we go on our date?” Yoochun said with a charming smile.

“I have a headache.” Changmin deadpanned. “I think our meeting went well today Mr. Park, so I don’t think we’ll have to meet again anytime soon, so -“

“Come on, it’ll be fun. If you want, we could talk about my best man duties for a bit more. I’ll treat you.”

Changmin touched his neck, “I think my neck is hurting -“

“A friend of mine opened this new restaurant downtown, it’s called Blue. It’s famous for its -“

“Crab dishes.” Changmin finished, trying to remain as calm as possible.

A victorious smile stretched slowly across Yoochun’s lips, “So you know it then?” he chuckled, “I can get us a table.” He noticed the hesitant look on Changmin’s face, “It’ll be fun, and the food’s great.”

“It’s not a date.” Changmin clarified, “If I go with you, then you’re not allowed to touch me in any romantic way.” He glanced at Yoochun’s hands, “No touching.”

Yoochun held up his hands, “Fine…I will not be responsible for my behavior after a couple of drinks though -“

Changmin stopped in his tracks. “Are you serious? It’s only eleven in the morning -“

“I was just kidding, now let’s go.” Yoochun murmured as he led Changmin to his car out in the front of the building, and after Changmin got in the car, he quickly texted an apology to Jaejoong.

I’ve sold around an hour’s worth of my life to the devil in exchange for delicious crab. I’ll be back before one.

“Oh God, I’m late.” Jaejoong glanced at his watch and ran out of his car. He jogged up to the lady at the front desk and caught his breath before he spoke, “I’m with the daughter of -“

“Ms. Ara is here.” The woman said politely, “I’ll ask someone to lead you to where she’s currently selecting her gown.”

Jaejoong exhaled calmly and followed one of the clerks to where Ara was. He sat down on one of the couches and looked around the room for a few minutes before the clerk came back and set down drinks and biscuits.

“Thank you.” Jaejoong said before the woman left. He glanced at the dressing room and back at his watch. After a few minutes, he walked over to the dressing room and knocked.

“Ara? I’m sorry I’m late, there was traffic and -“

The door to the dressing room opened, and Jaejoong let out a small gasp of breath when he caught sight of Ara. She looked nothing short of gorgeous, and a slight pang of envy clenched his heart as he continued to stare at her.

The clerk who’d assisted her in dressing up smiled at Jaejoong and bowed. He smiled back at her, “Why don’t you come out? It’s a bit hard to look at the dress in such a small area.”

Ara followed and as soon as she was surrounded by the mirrors, Jaejoong let out another admiring sigh.

She was beautiful.

Ara glanced at the clerk, “I’m sorry, but could you leave for a bit? I’ll call you back when I need your help again.” she said politely, “I’m sorry to trouble you -“

The woman shook her head, “No, it’s fine. I’ll wait outside.” As soon as she exited, Jaejoong approached Ara and examined the fabric of the wedding dress. He examined all of the dress’ details, from the bodice to the train and sighed wistfully.

“You look beautiful.” He murmured. His eyes trailed upwards, and he noticed that Ara was staring at the mirror with teary eyes. Jaejoong quickly put his arm around her and smiled, “I know, it’s a big day and -“

“I can’t do this to him.”

Jaejoong’s eyes widened, and he glanced at her. “What? I’m sure your father won’t mind paying for the cost of the wedding dress -“

Ara let out a sob, and Jaejoong stepped back in surprise. She shook her head and quickly brushed away the tears that were falling from her eyes, “No, not my father. I can’t, I can’t do this to Yunho.”

“What?” Jaejoong faltered and quickly blurted out whatever came to mind, “I’m sure Yunho’s willing to make a commitment to you. I’m sure he’ll love your baby.” he hugged Ara tightly, “He’ll take care of you and your baby, then you guys will have the perfect family and-”

Ara shook her head and pulled away from Jaejoong. She stared back at Jaejoong with her teary eyes, “Why should we be his responsibility? Why should he be forced to take care of a baby that isn’t even his?”

“What?” Jaejoong choked out, his mind barely processing Ara’s words. “I mean, what are you saying -“

“The baby isn’t Yunho’s.”
