Summary: Jung Yunho was supposed to be the mysterious, indifferent, student council president. While he’d never stolen any minute of Kim Jaejoong’s attention before, he certainly was now.
“Are you serious?”
Yunho laughed and pulled away, “No.” He pinched Jaejoong’s cheeks and began to walk away, leaving behind his blushing boyfriend in front of his gate. “I want something expensive!”
“Fuck you, you’re not going to get anything!” Jaejoong shouted as he opened his gate and stormed into his house.
He pulled open the front door of his house roughly and slammed it as soon as he was inside. He huffed and was just about to make his way to his room upstairs when his sisters noticed he came back home.
“Got lucky Joongie?” Yoori asked teasingly as she threw a pillow at his head, “Did you get de-virginized?”
His sisters began laughing at the scarlet twinge that spread all over his face, and Jaejoong ran to his room, cursing stupid sisters and an even dumber boyfriend.

“Why did you drag me with you on this stupid adventure?” Yoochun hissed as Jaejoong pulled him into another shop, “I told you, just wrap yourself up with a ribbon and present yourself for Yunho’s pleasure -“
Jaejoong blushed hard and swatted Yoochun on the head, “Shut up, someone might hear you.” He picked up a t-shirt and held it up to Yoochun, “Do you think he’ll like it if I get him this?”
Yoochun sighed and stared at Jaejoong blankly, “I told you. Sex as a present will never go wrong.” He set his hands on his waist and continued, “Well, unless you’re a girl and get pregnant, but then again, unless you’re hiding ovaries somewhere, I don’t think -“
Jaejoong buried his head into a sweater and mumbled, “I really don’t know how I got stuck with you as best friend. I think I need a beer or something, or else I’ll never get through this with you.”
“Listen Jaejoong, you could give Yunho a reindeer sweater and he wouldn’t care at all. All he cares about is the fact that you made an effort to give it to him, and that you cared enough to get him something nice.”
“I want to get him something nice.” Jaejoong muttered, “I feel like a terrible boyfriend all the time.” He picked at the buttons on the shirt he had in his hands, “Anyway, I’m hungry. Let’s get something to eat.”
Jaejoong looked around for Yoochun and found the other student by a display case. He walked over to where he was and tapped his shoulder, “Why’d you just leave me asshole? I looked like an idiot talking to myself like that -“
“Why don’t you get him a wallet?”
Jaejoong blinked. “A wallet?” he looked down at the display case and noticed that all the prices were relatively affordable. “Oh, right. Good idea - wallets are useful, and those look nice.”
Yoochun tore his eyes away from the display and smirked at Jaejoong, “You know what else wallets are useful for aside for holding money?”
Jaejoong eyed his best friend suspiciously. “Fine, I’ll bite. What else are wallets useful for?”
“They’re a convenient place to keep condoms.”
Jaejoong reached over and pushed Yoochun’s face into the display case, leaving behind a mark on the glass that would have to get cleaned up by one of the irritated salesmen.

“Jaejoong stared at Changmin, “So, what did you get Yunho for Christmas?” he asked, only talking to the other student because he was irritated by the deathly silence in the room.
Changmin lifted his eyes off the page of his book, “Why? You didn’t get him anything, did you?”
Jaejoong frowned, “I did.” He pushed the tin of cookies toward Changmin nicely and leaned back against his chair, “It’s nice too. I just wanted to know what you got him since you’re his best friend.”
The other student took a cookie out of the container and bit it, “I got him this book he wanted.” He chewed on the cookie and glanced at Jaejoong, “What?”
“Where’s Yunho?”
Changmin finished the last of the cookie and dusted the crumbs off his hands before he resumed reading his book, “He’s in the theater, overseeing the chorale’s practice for their concert tomorrow.”
“Oh.” Jaejoong frowned, “Do you think I could go -“
“As long as you leave the cookies here, then you can go.” Changmin interrupted, his eyes never leaving the page of his book.
Jaejoong stood up and took his bag, but just as he was about to head for the door, he took a wrapped tin out of his bag and placed it onto the table where Changmin was seated.
“Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you next year.”
Changmin put his book down and glanced at Jaejoong. He reached out for the wrapped present warily and looked at it before he raised his eyes to look at Jaejoong, “What is it?” he asked.
“Cookies.” Jaejoong answered as he slung his bag over his shoulder, “I know you liked the ones I baked for you last week - Yunho told me.”
The younger student frowned, “Thanks I guess.”
“Yeah, sure.” Jaejoong replied before he turned around and began to make his way out the door. Just as he was about to shut the door, Changmin shouted his name out, so he turned around. “What?”
“Yunho has my gift for you.” Changmin muttered.
Jaejoong’s eyes widened in surprise, “You got a gift for me?”
“Yunho told me you were going to give me one.” Changmin explained shortly, “He also dropped numerous obvious hints that I should get you one too.”
“Oh.” Jaejoong laughed, “Thanks then.”
“Yeah, whatever.” Changmin replied as he turned the page of his book, “This doesn’t change anything between us though. I still don’t like you, and I still don’t think you’re good enough for Yunho.”
“Don’t worry.” Jaejoong replied, “I still don’t like you either.”
“Merry Christmas Jaejoong.”
“Merry Christmas Changmin.”
o-o-o
Jaejoong walked inside the theater and found Yunho sitting down in the farthest row. He approached the other student quietly, but as soon as he was close enough, he dropped into the seat next to his loudly.
Yunho jolted upwards and shot a glare at Jaejoong, “Really, was that necessary?”
“Can we go now?” Jaejoong asked as he glanced at the Chorale members who were putting away stage props and other items. He held up the bag which contained Yunho’s gift, “I want to exchange gifts with you now.”
Yunho looked at the bag, “What did you get for me?” he asked as he reached his hand out to get it.
Jaejoong pulled the gift away from him and shook his head, “No.” he smiled happily and held the present with both of his hands, “Come on, let’s go now.” He fidgeted in his seat childishly, “I want my gift too -“
“You just want me to kiss you again, don’t you?” Yunho drawled lazily as he poked Jaejoong’s cheek. “If you wanted me to kiss you Joongie, why don’t you just ask?”
“Keep your mouth to yourself.” Jaejoong countered with a smile. He tilted Yunho’s head to the right and observed the hickeys that lined his boyfriend’s tanned skin, “You didn’t bother to ask Jihye for any make up to cover it?”
Yunho shook his head, “I forgot.” He glanced at Jaejoong’s neck, “Why, did you ask for make up from your sisters?”
“Yeah.” Jaejoong replied, “They kind of just gave me my own.” He muttered.
“Well that’s a useful Christmas gift.” Yunho chuckled, “Oh yeah, what do you want from Japan?” he asked as he intertwined his fingers with Jaejoong’s. “As long as it’s within reason, I’ll probably be able to get you something.”
“When are you leaving?” Jaejoong asked as he leaned against his seat.
“Tomorrow morning.”
“Oh.” Jaejoong bit his lip and shrugged, “I don’t really know what I want. Just get me something nice - like a transparent umbrella or something.” He said with a smile, “I’m sure I’ll like whatever you get me.”
Yunho chuckled, “A transparent umbrella? Are you sure -“
“Yunho, can I talk to you?”
Jaejoong quickly slipped his hand out of Yunho’s and turned his head to look at the owner of the voice. He swallowed hard and hoped that Ara hadn’t noticed the fact he and Yunho had been holding hands. He glanced back at Yunho and noticed that the other student had straightened up.
“Is it okay if Jaejoong comes along?” Yunho asked as he got up from his seat. “We’re going somewhere, and I don’t really want to leave him -“
“It’s a personal matter.” Ara muttered, biting her lip nervously. “I’d really appreciate it if it was just the two of us.”
“Oh.”
Jaejoong looked up at Yunho, “It’s okay, I can wait here.” He forced out, despite how curious he was about what Ara could want from Yunho. He faked a smile at Ara, “You can take your time.”
He watched Yunho leave with Ara, and as soon as they were both outside, he huffed and leaned back in his seat. He kicked the seat in front of him a couple of times in frustration but instead settled into pouting.
He ignored the girls that attempted to say hi to him by averting his eyes whenever they walked past, but he managed to overhear the conversation of two girls who were fixing their things close to where he was.
“Ara’s totally asking Yunho about his girl.” One of them spoke as she put her clear book inside her bag, “I mean I’m really curious about who Yunho’s girlfriend is too. If he’s going to choose her over Ara, that must mean she’s really pretty.”
“How sure are you he has a girlfriend?”
“Yunho doesn’t seem like the type to play around with girls.” The first girl replied, “That would seem more like someone else’s kind of behavior. Yunho always seems like he’d make such a wonderful boyfriend.”
“He’s with Kim Jaejoong a lot.” Her shorter friend replied, “Do you think Yunho’s dating one of Jaejoong’s sisters?”
“…maybe.” The first girl answered, “Yunho looks like the type to get an older girl anyway. I don’t think he feels like anyone in this school is mature enough for him, and an older woman probably would be possessive of him.”
“Oh my God, yeah.” The second girl replied, “Did you see those hickeys on his neck? I bet she’s kinky too - it’s like she mauled him or something. They were all over his skin and they’re so dark too.”
Jaejoong huffed and stood up. He slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way to walk past them, but he paused as soon as he heard their next line of conversation.
“Anyway, good luck to Ara.” The second girl said as she picked up her bag, “Maybe she’ll be able to convince Yunho to date her.”
“Yeah.” The first girl replied, “After all, you’d be an idiot not to want to date her -“
Jaejoong ran out of the theater to look for Ara and Yunho.
He was not going to let some girl try to steal Yunho away from him.
Jung Yunho was his boyfriend.
o-o-o
Jaejoong caught sight of the two of them standing near the theater’s entrance, and he silently made his way closer before he hid himself behind a pillar. He let out a nervous breath and tried to move closer so that he could hear their conversation.
“Yunho…”
He took a deep intake of breath and waited for Yunho to respond.
“Ara, I really…I don’t know why you asked me out here.” Yunho replied slowly, “I told you about how I feel about you, right? I told you that I don’t feel the same way.”
“I know.” Ara murmured softly, “I just…I just wanted to ask if you have someone else. If you’re seeing someone, I need to know. I don’t…I don’t want to start the New Year still pining after you if you’re seeing someone.”
“You want to know if I’m dating someone?” Yunho asked.
“Yes.”
“I am, and I’m happy with that person…really happy. Ara, I really want you to move on because I won’t ever -“
“Why wasn’t I good enough?” Ara burst out, and Jaejoong could hear that she was crying. She sniffled, “Why couldn’t you ever look at me the way I wanted you to? Why are you always a world apart? Why are you so cold? All I wanted was for you to be nice to me!”
“Ara -“
“I’m sorry Yunho, I’ll leave now.”
Jaejoong heard quick footsteps, and after he assumed that Ara was gone, he was about to make his way out of his hiding spot and back to his spot inside the theater until he heard Yunho.
“I know you’re there Jaejoong.”
Before Jaejoong could get another word out, Yunho had tilted his chin up and pressed their lips together for a soft kiss. Jaejoong’s eyes fluttered shut, and he parted his lips as soon as Yunho’s tongue ran against his them.
They kissed languidly for a few minutes before Yunho pulled away. He looked down at Jaejoong with an indecipherable look before he reached down and took hold of the other student’s hand.
“I didn’t run after her because that would only give her the wrong idea.” Yunho murmured softly, “She has to move on and even if I’m cold, I really don’t -“
“You’re not cold.” Jaejoong replied with a smile as he squeezed Yunho’s hand reassuringly, “You did the best you could.” He kissed Yunho softly, “Come on, let’s go. You said you’d treat me to dinner before we exchange gifts.”
Before Jaejoong could pull Yunho in the direction of the school’s gates, the other student had pulled him into a tight embrace. Yunho buried his face into Jaejoong’s neck and breathed in slowly.
“I like you a lot.” Yunho murmured as he held Jaejoong close, “I’m really happy whenever I’m with you.”
“You make me happy too.” Jaejoong stuttered, a blush rising to his cheeks. He watched as Yunho slowly moved away, and as soon as their eyes met, he continued. “I like you too, even when you’re a horny possessive bastard, and even when you’re difficult to understand.”
Yunho laughed, and Jaejoong smiled.
I’m looking forward to another year with you.
o-o-o
It was snowing lightly, and Jaejoong glanced at Yunho as they walked back to Jaejoong’s house. “I like the scarf you gave me.” He fiddled with it and pulled at the ends as they walked, “I like the color.”
Yunho glanced at Jaejoong and raised an eyebrow, “Are you okay?”
Jaejoong frowned, “I’m just saying I like your gift.” He huffed and crossed his arms, “I’m just trying to appreciate it.” He glanced at Yunho, “Did you like my gift?” he asked curiously, “I’m sorry if -“
“Of course I liked it.” Yunho said with a smile as he moved closer to Jaejoong, “Could you stop walking for just…one second?”
Jaejoong blinked. “What? Why?” he paused, and he watched as Yunho settled down in front of him. He eyed Yunho curiously, “Is there something on my face?”
“No, wait.” Yunho said softly as he slowly began to un-wrap the red scarf around Jaejoong’s neck. He stopped, and after a few seconds, he pulled Jaejoong closer using the scarf and pressed a soft kiss against his boyfriend’s lips.
He pulled away, and Jaejoong’s face was completely red. He swatted Yunho and tried to hide the blush on his face as he turned away, “You asshole! Don’t…” he blushed even harder and bit his lip when he looked back at Yunho.
“Merry Christmas.” Yunho said with an amused smile as he pulled Jaejoong back closer with the scarf. He ran his hand through Jaejoong’s soft hair and looked down at him lovingly, “Boojae…”
Jaejoong blushed harder, “Merry Christmas.”
“I love you.”
Jaejoong froze, and his eyes widened with surprise. He looked up at Yunho and felt his heart hammering in his chest. He opened his mouth, but words failed to come out, and as he felt Yunho begin to pull away his sense of urgency only increased.
Yunho looked completely embarrassed, and it was one of the few times that Jaejoong could read his expression clearly. “I mean, shit, I think I should go Jaejoong -“
“Yunho, I love you too.”
Jaejoong laughed at Yunho’s surprised expression and pulled him into a tight embrace, burying his face into his boyfriend’s chest. He hugged him close, “I’ll miss you over the break.”
“I’ll miss you too.”
Jaejoong’s heart fluttered in his chest and he looked up at Yunho adoringly.
If there was one thing he learned about Jung Yunho in the months they’d spent together, it was that Yunho was a very easy person to love.
He was perfect.
“Merry Christmas.” Jaejoong said softly with a smile, “I love you Jung Yunho.”
Yunho leaned down and kissed Jaejoong, and no words were needed for Jaejoong to know that he felt the same.
< > Author’s Note: Apparently Yoochun, it’s not good to store condoms in wallets, I read that in some article - don’t judge me. LOL. Anyway, I hope you guys all enjoy this chapter! Sorry, there’s no smut here. Hahaha. If you want Christmas smut, you’ll have to read the upcoming chapter of For You, whenever it comes out. XD All sorts of fluff and mushyness in the chapter, and I hope you guys all liked this update. :3 This story is actually entering its latter half - probably less than ten chapters to go until it’s done - there’s probably going to be a smut scene or two before the story ends. XD Hahaha. Congratulations to
ninghui465! She’s currently in the lead of the contest now. ^__^ The guesses for tomorrow’s update are: For You, The Effects of a One-sided Crush and NaNoWriMo Story/Promises! I hope you guys all enjoyed this, and happy holidays! ♥
