There are many things I should be doing right now, including writing up my learning journal from last week's uni class, and also general work, seeing as how I am in the office and all.
But, NCIS is on in America tonight, and I really should put down some thoughts about the premiere of a week ago because otherwise I'll get all wrapped up in the

Oh, I like the theory that Saleem is Tony's Ari - and it makes the vengeance thing sit a little easier with me! I do like the whole idea of him being so very numb, at first, and then that numbness giving way to anger and utter focus on revenge - because like you say, everyone else has been killed by Gibbs. Gibbs kind of stole any opportunities for anger and revenge for Kate right out from under Tony - and McGee's - nose, but this time it was Tony who decided he was going to do something - possibly because Gibbs has been so very distant and detached himself over the past year-ish.
I love angry!Tony - but what I like about his anger is that he's very careful with it - he never hurts anyone (er, except maybe for that punch to Kort, but I'll let it slide because of the circumstances and it didn't exactly leave him with a broken nose) and doesn't get violent - even here, it was Gibbs who actually did the killing. And angry!Tony is all that more effective (and sexy) because the rest of the time he is so ridiculously mild-mannered!
Hee! I adore splitting the seasons up according to the colour of Tony's shoulder holster! :-D The whole Tony is Gibbs scenario irks me a little, because they do hit us occasionally with anvils, but I personally don't think Tony is anything like Gibbs - he's a completely different leader, for one thing, and he's not suffered the massive loss Gibbs did in order to become who he is. He's a much more even-tempered person, too, I think. There are elements to him that come from Gibbs, but he's very different in so many ways, and I think they show that, too. I kind of like the idea, though, that maybe Tony was getting very Gibbs-like in his utter focus on revenge against Saleem, but maybe Gibbs stepped in and prevented him going too far, because really Gibbs is self-destructive in a way that Tony isn't - he's got much better survival instincts than that, I think. Gosh, they're so very complicated! :-)
Made much, much more sense than 98% of my blether above - and I do love getting into a nice discussion about Tony - and how awesome he is. :-)
