taking stock:
+ i made red velvet cupcakes with yellow icing tonight for Chinese New Year (tomorrow night).
+ it has been 11 days since i've had a cigarette.
+++ i learned what animals say in Russian today. (American dogs say, "woof woof;" Chinese dogs say, "Wang wang [that would be as in aah];" and Russian dogs say, "Gav gav." Roosters are my favorite; they say, "Koo-ka-ree-koo." fantastic.
- i found out that i had the flu. standard recovery time: 2 weeks. as of tomorrow, it will have been 2 weeks that i've been sick, and i still have a sore throat to beat all. if it's still sore on friday, i have to go back to the doctor.
- history paper this week; chinese paper next week; history paper the week after that.

- grading oral and written midterms.
