Dear G-d,
I'm sorry that I missed Yom Kippur services yesterday. As you're aware -- due in no small part to that whole all-knowing, all-seeing omnipresence thing you got going for ya, I'm sure -- the abdominal pain and urination of blood necessitated taking myself to the doctor instead. Sorry 'bout that. I want to thank you for the "Jewish doctor" stereotype being a myth, because it's a darn good thing for me that you had a Christian or two on the job yesterday! I really appreciate the groovy antibiotics, which are doing a far, far better job than straight cranberry juice and AZO. Boy, I dodged a real bullet yesterday with the fasting, too. Can't take antibiotics without water and food!
Well, okay, I wasn't going to fast anyhow. But I still skipped the coffee for 24 hours. I also didn't wash my hair or drive or Twitter, either. Plus I DID go to Kol Nidrei services on Friday. Then I was all dressed and ready to go to services the next morning, until the red pee got really bad. That kind of counts, right?
Sure it does!
Yes? No? I has a doctor's note, if that helps sway your decision.
Love,
Jackie
PS: Since this is my fifth round of antibiotics for one thing or another this year, thank you also for yogurt. 'Nuff said there.
PPS: Thanks also for loving little housecats. "The Amityville Horror" and "Cujo" were on TV last night. I stayed up watching them both, (plus also knitting) so I was good and skeered plenty by 3:00 AM. It was nice to fall asleep with a grey purring ham of a cat, instead of laying awake with thoughts of large, snapping vicious doggies dancing through my head.
