Writer's Block: Reconsidering Children's Books
I find Charlotte's Web incredibly disturbing now that I'm an adult. I know, I adored this book as a child and I literally wore the cover off. I have no idea now why I so adored the thought of speaking animals and the pastoral life.
Culturally and ethnically speaking, it would be very difficult for me to turn vegetarian or even vegan, but I find myself abhorring the mere thought of raising livestock for consumption.
