Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know.
In other news, I want to write but I can't seem to manage, and I want to offer ficlets but I only want to write certain things, so I'm going to steal a format from
musesfool:
One from Column A and one from Column B, in which Column A is a list of song lyrics (chosen randomly from listening to the iPod this morning) and Column B is a list of pairings I'm interested in writing. You pick a pairing and a lyric and I write a ficlet about the pairing inspired by the lyric.
Pairings can be chosen up to two times, but each lyric can be chosen only once, so there will only be ten ficlets in total, and I can't say when exactly they'll get written, but they'll eventually get done.
If, after all that, you're still interested:
Column A
1. In each other's shadows we grew less and less tall
And eventually our theories couldn't explain it all
And I'm recording our history now on the bedroom wall
And when we leave the landlord will come, and paint over it all
"Both Hands" - Ani DiFranco
2. And the story's all over you
In the morning I'll call you
Can't find a clue when your eyes are all painted Sinatra blue
"The Wolves (Act I and II)" - Bon Iver
3. And you remind me of some art-house black and white I saw
They'd coloured it with chalk
And are you wise? Wise beyond your years or,
Or you all talk?
"Juliet (Keep That in Mind)" - Thea Gilmore

Steal some covers, share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in

You'll be needing love
And of all the lonely hearts
You're the one I'm thinkin' of

"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away

from the glass on the floor
and the strings that're breaking
and i keep on breaking more

8. We stare out the window
And look to the sky every night
The stars are the beacons of heaven
And maybe one day, you'll go up for a ride
"I'm With You" - Adam Pascal
9. Up where the hunted hide with ease
Under the arms of eyeless trees
Up where the answers fall like leaves
