Ha. So this year was the second Valentine's Day spent with Jordan. And I must say I had a great time. The day started off well with me getting more on my paycheck than I had expected. My manager gave me a free biscuit with jelly before I left lol :D After depositing it in the bank, I made a trip to La Cantera and picked up two chocolate covered marshmallows since Jordan loves them so much lol. I then travelled to a cool vintage boutique called Too Good to be Threw and browsed around at the very few items they had. Looks as though they just had their winter sale cleaned out. But I did find a cool simple linen dress for $2, and a beautiful Express italian tooled belt for $3.50. Leaving a while later after I thought I lost my keys, I traveled to the Texas sized thrift store and browsed around a little not finding much either. I took vintage Talbots belt with a beautiful patina for about $4, and eventually went back the same day for a pair of barely wore Dexter loafers for $7. Both went well with the nautical themed outfit I chose, rather than the much expected rehashed prom dresses of yester year or "red" outfits everyone and their mom would be wearing downtown lol.
Jordan came by around 3pm and we decided on seeing The Pink Panther. It was pretty funny since I haven't seen Steve Martin in anything recent. My favorite parts were the ones that included the asian lady, the burger montage scene, and the airport situation. We snuck in two pepsis, a bag of cheese combos, a package of white cheddar cheese crackers, and a candy bar lol. From there we proceeded to go downtown.
When we got there one of the first places we went was the sanrio store lol. I *had* to pick up some strawberry jelly filled marshmallows. They tasted sooo good the last time i had them. After that we walked around a little bit before heading out to the riverwalk restaurants to see what the waiting lists were. Sure enough we picked the Rainforest Cafe and there was this crowd of people surrounding it. We just gave each other a look and knew that every restaurant would be like that, so we put our name on the 2 hour waiting list and decided to walk around and find some stores to examine. We walked back to Rivercenter Mall to have a light snack and journeyed to the far crevices of the mall. Sure enough there were some neat stores I had never ever seen like an asian shop and next to it was a kind of mini world market with extremely reasonable priced items like bamboo fountains for $40, fresh bamboo stacks for growing starting at $2, lanterns and huge pinwheel hanging items for about 2/$10 or $15 depending on the item and size. Like I said we got there about 10 minutes before it closed and stayed a little after. We promised to go back lol. And go back we shall. It was almost time for us to head back to RC and we waited like a little more but we were eventaully sat. They sat us on the thrid level like we requested, but it was by the fish tank only there weren't dead fish like the last time, and my chair faced the wall and a giant tree >_< So I moved the chair to the side of the table next to Jordan and had a nice view of a waterfall/fountain. I got the delicious Pot Roast which I shared a little with Jordan and for dessert we had a chocolate covered strawberry from the chocolate shop on the riverwalk.
By the time we made it home it was 12:30 am lol. But I loved every minute of it ^_^
