I meant to post this last night and just got distracted--I'm actually working on the plot for my next photo story--but before I get too ahead of myself I need to finish "Impressions" :P So here is the next installment, enjoy!
Part 24:
Rayna: *write, write, write...sigh*
Rayna: *puts down pencil* I like writing but I wish there was something more...I can't see myself doing this for the rest of my life.
*Sebastian approaces*
Sebastian: Miss Rayna?
Rayna: Oh, hi Sebastian.
Sebastian: I...have something to show you.
Sebastian: *shows Rayna a sword*
Rayna: Wow! That's even fancier than your other sword.
Sebastian: This used to be my grandfather's, he gave it to me when I came of age. Here, take it and unsheath it.
Rayna: *excited* May I?
Sebastian: Please.
*Rayna takes the sword and slowly pulls it out of the sheath*
Rayna: It's beautiful! And so light! *huge smile*
Sebastian: I knew you would appreciate it.
*Rayna swings the sword a few times, testing it's balance*
Rayna: Perfect. *replaces sword to the sheath*
Sebastian: It is a pleasure seeing a master at her craft.
Rayna: *blush* I'm no master.
Sebastian: I beg to differ. You could teach the captian of the royal guard in my kingdom a thing or two.
Rayna: *hands the sword back to Sebastian* Thanks for showing it to me.
Sebastian: No, I want you to have it.
Rayna: What? Oh, no...I couldn't...it was your grandfather's!
Sebastian: Please take it. It pleases me to see the sword in the hands of one who values it.
Rayna: I don't know what to say...
Sebastian: Say you will take it and use it well.
Rayna: Thank you, I will... *goes speechless*
Sebastian: I also owe you an apology. I was not especially kind to you at our last meeting and I am sorry.
Rayna: Oh...I forgot all about that. Really, it's okay.
Sebastian: Thank you.
Rayna: Hey! We should duel...you know, to practice! I haven't faced an oppenent in so long, please say you will? There's isn't anyone else here I can practice with.
Sebastian: *pulls his own sword from his belt* I'd be honored...shall we?
Rayna: *pulls her sword from the sheath again and prepares to duel*
To be continued...
Rayna's sword is actually a letter opener that my husband got in Japan ages ago when he went there on a business trip (he's actually been there seven times...and I've never been there...and yes, I'm jealous :P ). I need to work on getting her to hold it better, but I have some ideas for next time.
