I'm glad you're finally feeling better--being sick over the holidays totally blows.

I decided this Christmas that since I was finishing up school, I'd deal with finals first, presents second. Now that finals are over, I can really start focusing in on this Christmas thing in earnest.

I learned to sew on a ye olde sewing machine that my grandfather bought for my grandmother in 1954. The thing was cast iron and do some serious damage if used as a weapon :D When we finally got a "new" sewing machine, it was a hand-me-down from my grandmother, and it was from 1985. Clearly, sewing is a priority in my house.

I've used a serger a few times. They take awhile to get used to (because they cut off the edge of the fabric--if you mess up, you can be screwed), but they are really handy. But kind of a bitch to thread. Poke around on the internet. I'm sure there's a few sites that can provide you more than enough information about what to get.

"Tangled" is on my list too. I'll probably try and convince my parents to see it with me some time this week :D Yes, it is a little odd seeing a children's movie with your parents when you're in your 20s, but I'm used to it by now :D

I don't have much of a dolly wish list either...mostly because funds are tight until I can get a part-time job again. I know I want another Lati to round out my collection, I'm just searching for the perfect one. And considering that I have no money, it's pretty easy for me to be patient about that :D

I'm not hugely active on DoA, but I do follow the Chatty Lati Yellow Thread. We were all over that message. We were very pleased with the action, because it shows that Lati does listen to their customers and takes their concerns into account instead of worrying about the almighty dollar. It would not surprise me in the least if they made the decision to have basics open year round when they finally get caught up on orders (my guess is late March or early April). I don't mind the delays, especially since by this point, most everyone who is thinking about ordering from Lati knows what to expect (although that doesn't stop them from complaining about the wait times, which is driving me FREAKING CRAZY). You should see what some people are posting on Lati's Q&A. I mean, I get that people are upset, but they're resulting to name calling and some VERY inappropriate language. Don't they know that they'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?

All pirates are home, and I would guess that about a third of the HK Vampires are out already. After that we have the 5th Anniversary Grown Up Pury/Laches (which by our estimates, not a lot of people ordered), and then the Halloween dolls and the Christmas Dolls. So yeah, it's going to be quite some time before Lati gets all caught up.

Admittedly, I am SUPER tempted by Christmas Lea, even though I already own a pirate Lea. I figure, though, that Pirate Lea is tan and human, and Christmas Lea is NS and elfy, that they'd be different enough that I wouldn't mind having two of the same mold. I do really like sleeping Lea and sleeping Byurl, too (which is weird, since sleepers don't usually appeal to me). And they're not a bad price either, $280 for just the doll. And I did just graduate college, so I do deserve a present...

I spoke too soon about not being sick anymore, the sinus and ear crap came back a few days before Christmas. The good news is it isn't as bad as before, just a bit uncomfortable but I seem to be managing it pretty well this time with over the counter meds. Still, this being sick around the holidays...I'm so over it. Was I really that bad this year? It's worse then coal in my stocking. :P

"Tangled" was freakin' adorable! If you see it let me know what you think of it. I would love to see it again. :D

When are you starting grad school? I am a bit fuzzy on those details. Aren't you taking on online class in January? Getting a job at the same time should be too hard, I wish you luck with that.

I thought the Christmas dolls were cute, but not enough to tempt me. I do like looking though, and I think the face ups are so cute. I'm still thinking my next doll will end up being a Pukifee Pong. ;)

Of course. It seems like I get sick around Christmas every year too. Only since I'm in school, it's kind of a good thing. It sucks being sick over break, but I'd rather be sick at home than sick at school. Not too sick, of course. My brother was super sick over Christmas last year and missed out on all the holiday sweets! Now that is a tragedy.

I finally got around to seeing Tangled last week--I LOVED it. It was very much in the Disney style of my youth. And the whole sequence during "I See the Light" was pretty much to die for. Although there were a few times when people were singing that I was like "I'm pretty sure this song was in The Little Mermaid." Just saying. But it's Alan Menken, so I really can't complain. I would LOVE to see it again, though :)

Officially, my first day of grad school is the 18th, but since I'm doing this thing online, I don't actually have to go to class until the 31st. And then I only have class twice a month. I also have a class that's every Wednesday from 6-9, but I'm thinking that it'll be better if I wait to take that class until after I get a job so I have a more open availability to work with during the hiring process.

I almost got a Christmas Lati, but then I realized that I only really want one more Lati to complete my collection, and that Lati is Unicorn Coco. So I'm officially on the lookout for one! I think once I have her in my possession, I'll be laying off the Latis for awhile. Not that I'm not open to the possibility of getting more later on down the road, but I'm just ready to be content with the dolls that I own.
