I definitely think Rayna looks more mature and she seems to have more depth in her looks, which is really a nice thing. I can't stop looking at her. :P
Heh, I hadn't even seen the mystic options yet. :P Still, it's just not my thing so for myself I'm a little disappointed.
Right after I posted this I went back to DOA and found the POA Laches for $650. To me this seems better. $800 seems excessive, especially since the one in question had these new eyelashes put on that were awful and if for some reason I did buy I'd replace immediately. :P But the listing is gone now. It probably sold someplace else or something. There is another yellow Laches, an older one, that's cute and the right price. But the ear was broken and glued back on and that's just really turning me off that one right now. Oh, and it's on a tan Jaime body and I'd rather have a Lati one. If I'm going to spend that much I want to be in love. ;)
I guess I just thought of winter tans going for $800-ish so to see a POA for that much it kind of threw me. I just didn't expect a similar kind of asking price. Oh well, live and learn. :D
If darned Lati had their basic constantly available (like Fairyland, etc.), I wouldn't have this problem. Yes, patience is really, really hard. I'll manage, it's just a bummer when I know what I want and can't find it...then I start questioning myself and wondering for too long if I'm making the right decision. When I make up my mind I just like doing it instead of waiting. :P
I'm starting to really warm up to the idea of owning a mystic. Thing is, though, I'm not too keen on owning a vampire. If I had to pick, though, mystic Lumi would be my choice, but finding her in NS is proving to be a bit of a challenge. I'm reticent to actually lay down the money for her though, since I'm wondering if Lati will release mystics again relatively soon. I say that because they released tan humans twice in a row; it wouldn't surprise me if they did that for mystics (the second most-requested limited after tan humans).

I think, after the early limiteds (pretty much anything before the Kitty set), the PoA dolls are the hardest to find--and therefore, they fetch a high price. I think the Winter Tans fetch the highest price (right after Kitty Lea and Tan Mystic Vampire Miel), but I don't think it's necessarily hard to find one--you just have to be willing to pay an arm and a leg. I have a feeling Lati might return to the "sweet" dolls after this round of HKs. They've been doing the crazy makeup for the past couple of releases, which I know a lot of people (including myself) do love, but I think everyone's ready for the sweet faceups to make a return.
I completely agree with you that Lati should have their basics constantly available. And I think it's time for them to start making tan basics, too. The fact that there are about 10 options for every doll on these HK Vampires shows that Lati could make bank if they offered tan basics. I would even be okay if they only did tan ordering periods once or twice a year. That way, people would know when they could get their tan dolls and Lati wouldn't be inundated with orders for Limiteds every time (and it wouldn't take 4 months to ship out their dolls).
And I'm like you, when I make a decision about a doll, I want that doll right NOW. Otherwise I start to nitpick and wonder if the doll is really worth all the money I'm going to be paying for her.
Yeah, I keep seeing Lumi mystics coming up for sale but they are all WS! Maybe because they were vampires people were going for pale when they ordered them originally?
Yep, I saw that Grown up Laches for $650 (I think it was listed at $700 before). I would like to buy it but I have to sell Eli first...still no takers, although I did have one person show some interest yesterday. They asked some questions and I answered but I haven't heard back from them yet. *fingers crossed*
