Chapter 451: Felix's Guilt
Felix: Hey Gideon, what’s up? Were we supposed to meet today?
Gideon: No. I was hoping to talk to you though.
Felix: Okay.
Gideon: It’s about Ivy…
Felix: *smiles* You like her, don’t you?
Gideon: Well, I want to get to know her better. And that’s not a problem, but I’d also like to take her out again…but she says she has “issues”. I tried to get her to tell me more but I didn’t get anywhere. I was hoping you might be able to help explain it to me so I know what’s best to do next.
Felix: Yeah…Ivy…she’s had a hard time in the dating department.
Gideon: Doesn’t everyone?
Felix: She feels it more then most people I think and that’s makes it especially hard for her.
Gideon: Did some guy mistreat her?
Felix: *suddenly uncomfortable* Er…no…nothing like that…
Gideon: What’s the matter?
Felix: *vaguely* Nothing…
Gideon: Wait…you…and Ivy?
Felix: It was a long time ago.
Gideon: What did you do to her?
Felix: Nothing!
Gideon: You should have told me this before!
Felix: It’s not what you think. It’s true we dated…casually…but it was never serious. It was right around the time I met Taryn. So you can imagine what happened.
Gideon: You dumped Ivy for Taryn?
Felix: Hey, I think I was a little nicer then that.
Gideon: Sorry…I didn’t mean to accuse, it was just a question.
Felix: I tried to be as gentle as possible with Ivy but I made a huge mistake that I didn’t realize I’d made until much later…
Felix: …When Ivy decides to love someone she does it with her whole being. How do you gently let someone like that down? It’s not possible. So yes, I hurt her and I still feel terrible about it to this day. But I swear I didn’t mean to.
Gideon: You guys are friends now though…
Felix: Yeah. We always were better at just being friends. It took a long time to get back to that but I’m really glad we did.
Gideon: So she's had some bad experiences and she's afraid of repeating it again...that’s why she won’t let me get closer.
Felix: Yeah. That would be my guess. I’d just warn you to be careful going forward. Don’t give her any indication that you like her unless you really, really mean it. That way if you have to let her down it won’t be such a blow to her.
Felix: So…I hope this helps a little.
Gideon: Yeah, thanks. I’ll just keep being her friend...for now.
Felix: I think she’ll come around eventually, she really is ready for, you know, romance. She just doesn't know it yet.

Despite what happened between Felix and Ivy, Felix really does want Ivy to be happy. I think he was kind of relieved (although slightly embarrassed) to explain it to Gideon. Gideon really found the information useful. ;)
Plus, everything Felix guesses about Ivy is true, she really does feel things deeply. That does make it hard for her to not get hurt (she is aware of this, which is why she is being extra careful with Gideon).

Plus, in other doll news: Since I've been trying for a while to sell my Cavalie and have had no luck (seriously, just zero interest in him) I've decided to try and rewig and rechip him and keep him...for now. My goal is to create a new character with him, so when he's changed he will no longer be "Sebastian" but someone else. I ordered his wig and chips today so we'll see how they work out. ;)
