Happy Monday! Well...maybe...mine was not as productive as I was hoping. Anyway, I did get this newest chapter of "House of Pullip" ready. Please enjoy it!
Chapter 422: Making Changes
*At “The Sweet Shoppe”*
Taryn: I didn’t feel comfortable hiring anyone until I checked with you first. I have a favorite applicant…but you should meet her first…right?
Kiki: Yes, good idea.
Taryn: I asked her to stop by the store this morning. She should be here soon…but I didn’t promise her a job or anything…it’s just like a short second interview.
Kiki: I would like to meet her, but if you like her then I trust your judgment.
Taryn: You don’t look well…the sooner we get someone in here, the better.
Kiki: I don’t feel well today. I was trying to hide it.
Taryn: You don’t need to hide if from me.
*A girl enters the store*
Taryn: Oh…you’re here!
Girl: *nervously* Hello again.
Taryn: Thank you for coming. This will just be a short interview. I really wanted you to meet the store owner before making any decisions. This is Kiki…she owns the store and does all the wonderful baking.
Taryn: Kiki, this is Avery.
Avery: Nice to meet you. This store is so nice.
Kiki: *smiles* Thank you. Tell me a little about yourself, Avery.
Avery: I just finished school and moved out here to find a job.
Kiki: What did you study?
Avery: Business.
Kiki: I envy you going to school…I never had time.
Taryn: I agree, I started but never finished. School wasn’t really my thing. I did the backpacking through Europe thing instead.
Avery: Oh…I envy that!
Kiki: We don’t want to keep you long. Do you have any questions?
Avery: I don’t think so. Taryn explained the job very well in my first interview.
Taryn: Thanks again for coming. I’ll let you know by tomorrow about the job.
Avery: *smiles* Thank you for having me in again. Good bye!
*Avery leaves*
Taryn: What do you think?
Kiki: You know her better then I do…but she seems very nice.
Taryn: She doesn’t have a lot of experience but her references are very good. I just get a good feeling about her; I want to give her a chance.
Kiki: Well, that’s enough for me. Let’s give her that chance then.
Elsewhere…
Toby: There you are, Shelby…I’ve been looking for you.
Shelby: You look worried. Is everything okay?
Toby: Well, my parents called and they need some help. I wanted to talk to you about it.
Shelby: I hope they are well.
Toby: They are fine, don’t worry. It’s Phoebe…
Shelby: She’s not sick, is she?
Toby: No, no, it’s not that. You know my parents have lived in that house since before I was born, right?
Shelby: Yes.
Toby: When they moved there, the neighborhood was very nice…but it’s been going steadily downhill for the past few years.
Toby: I guess Phoebe has been mixing with some not-so-great friends. They are starting to become a bad influence on her. Phoebe hasn’t done anything wrong yet, but they are afraid she will.
Shelby: And they can’t move?
Toby: They tried to sell the house…but it’s a hard time for that now. If they can’t sell, they can’t leave…they just don’t have the money.
Shelby: Poor Phoebe. I wish there was something we could do.
Toby: Well, my parents are hoping we can help. They are wondering if Phoebe can come and live with us for a while.
Shelby: Oh…wow…that’s pretty major.
Toby: I know, that’s why I had to ask you first. It’s just this is a nice area and Phoebe really likes you. My parents were just thinking it might really help her get some good influences back in her life again before things get bad.
Shelby: And how do you feel about your sister coming here?
Toby: I know it won’t be easy...but then again, the gap in our ages has always made us kind of distant. It might be nice to have this chance to really connect as siblings like we always should have. And she’s family…I want to help.
Shelby: I agree. I think we should do it. If it can help Phoebe then it will be worth it.
Toby: You’re really okay with this?
Shelby: Yes.
Toby: This is why I love you so much…you always want to help when you can.
Shelby: *shrugs* I do like to help. It just makes sense to me. And I like Phoebe! It will be nice to have her here.
Toby: I’ll call my parents back now and make the arrangements.
Shelby: Sounds perfect!

It's about time I get some of these new characters into the story...so Avery finally made her appearance. Phoebe is at least being talked about, she's Toby much younger sister who will arrive soon. Also...I have another new characters I'm hoping will show up in a few chapters, too. ;) Also, the weather is not that great so all of the photo story photos ended up inside today, not just the store photos which are always inside. Sorry about that.
Do you like The Muppets? Then you have to watch this video. One of my contacts on Flickr had a link to it and I rolled on the floor laughing when I watched it...I just wanted to share the hilarity. :D
