wow that's always hard when some part of your home is under construction, and especially the kitchen. i wish you a swift rebuilding and good luck with the tiling!

I'm excited about it and dreading it at the same time. I want it to be done because I know it will be so much better then our old crappy counter tops, but the process is a huge pain. :P

I'm glad you liked it because I struggled with it a little bit. I'm kind of looking forward to setting up Felix's room, too. I might take some of the photos today (even though I'm not planning to post that next chapter until tomorrow).

Well, I'm sure the end result of your remodeling will make it all worth it =D

I hope so. Right now the kitchen is pretty much useless. And it's not what we really wanted to do, I just hope it's good enough and a decent alternative to the granite we really wanted.

Laszlo is such a sweetie. Hopefully he will be the right guy for Ivy.

Oh, I can't wait to see Felix's room! It's funny that this is coming up because I had been thinking lately that it might be fun to put together a room for Saorla. It's just a thought, though, without any definite plans.

Laszlo is really nice, I'm trying to make sure that comes through in the story. I can't wait to see Felix's room, too...I know that sounds silly but I haven't actually set it up yet. I have all the plans so I'm just hoping they come together well.

So, when I was ten, my parents' trusty GE dishwasher was recalled for being a fire hazard. Not surprising, that thing was old as dirt. So they were able to get a new one for free. They took this to be a sign that the kitchen should be remodeled. The appliances were all fine, it was the cabinetry, countertops, and the flooring that needed work. Which, of course, takes the most time to install ( ... )

One thing that is working in our favor is the company my husband works for is "highly encouraging" their employees to use up their saved vacation days before they expire. People were asked to take off the week after Easter if they could and my husband has a ton of time saved up so he has this whole entire week off to get as much of it done as possible. He got a bunch done yesterday so he started really well we are only doing the counter tops and the backsplash. Plus the fact that he is doing all the work himself is going to save us a ton of money. One of the things that killed it for us was if we did go with the granite we would have to pay someone to install it and the added expense with it already being so expensive made it too much ( ... )
