I believe Avatar has about - what? - 1.5 million Communities ... and counting.

It's getting ridiculous.

The problem with it is...it's usually about the same thing. The sites I go to (mainly avatar_fans, katara_zuko, etc.) are different.
I do have to agree though, theres been a lot of communities on ATLA lately.

:D I only watch those two communities (Besides watching the Ty Lee/Sokka community)
I havn't really been looking around at the other communities...I'll look when Im not reading Zutara I'M NOT BUSY O.O

YES. I mean--there are about 10 different Hotline!Avatar Comms. And the Character Comms (esp. the Zuko ones) are over-flowing.

They give me giant cases of "WTF?! WE HAVE ONE OF THOSE ALREADY!!1!"

These people must be stopped.

Unfortunate to say, I think they just want to be friended by more people, so they make up communities to gain popularity for their "genius", and "originality"; in reality, they are just copying everyone else.

I just stick with the sites that give me info, the art, and the ficlets that I like to read. Preferraby from the communities I said above ^^.

What's sad is that I still friend/join them all b/c I'm weak like that b/c I think they might be able to offer SOMETHING new and amusing. You know, I haven't really noticed yet. Hermm...

But yah, the fandom is getting a bit larger though. Check out the HP fandom, they have at least two communities *of about 500+ members each* for every pairing/ship comm. Now that is ridiculous. So um, until some idiot decides to make a zuko_katara!community just to "be original", I really can't complain all that much until then.

But even so, I agree with you. I'm thinking of doing a comm. unjoin/unfriend cut soon, it's getting to the point of just sheer annoyance.
