Why do I think they love marvel- Beside the fact that sometimes the premise os so X-Men?
1. Heroes Reborn. The title of the mini-series is also the title of the Marvel Event of 1996, when, after the Onslaught Saga, Avengers and Fantastic four had been apparently killed- only to be discovered to have been "reborn" in a poket-universe inside the 616 main reality by the doing of the reality-manipulator Franklin Richards, son of Reed and Sue Richards of Fantastic Four fame.
2. People with abilities being hunted because they are evolved- and the people with poweres now defined on the show as the next, or at least another, evolution of the human race? Yes. That's the basic of the X-MEN.
3. The premise of teh season premiere is the same as the story-line between X-Men events such as Messiah Complex and The Summers Rebellion storyline: a mutant was blamed for the destruction of a city, all mutants were blamed, mutants were hunted down, mutants were in hiding.

After a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated and lives in shambles, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding after being blamed for the catastrophic event. Coming from a very sheltered upbringing, a bold and ethereal teenager, Malina, has been told she is destined for greatness. In Tokyo, a quiet and unique young woman, Miko, is trying to track down her missing father while hiding an extraordinary secret that will make her a force to be reckoned with. In Los Angeles, a different type of hero is emerging through former soldier Carlos.
