Day 06 - Your day, in great detail

Aug 16, 2010 20:51

Wow, this is going to be the most boring post I imagine on the account of having not done much of anything at all... Yesterday would have been a different matter!

However...

This morning I woke up around 11am and during the process of waking did my usual email and  Facebook checking. I chatted to James for a short while via Xfire and began to experience the all to familiar feeling of missing him and wishing he was here, so I bid him farwell, grabbed a book and settled into the couch for an afternoon of reading. I devoured the entirety of The Andromeda Strain this afternoon, which approximately 300 pages, so not a particularly long book and it was exciting and a real page turner, so it wasn't difficult at all. It was a recommendation of Vati's in fact and a really good one I thought. I've just finished downloading the 1971 version of the film to see how it compares. After I finished that book I started The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan, so far very tense and also a page turner as it has me all to curious as to what is going on! It's part of a trilogy and the second book doesn't come out until September, so it'll be a cliffhanger reading fest which I know is going to drive me nuts if I love it! >.< I was trying to resist, but I've heard it's SO GOOD.

The remainder of my day up until now involved eating glorious home-made mac and cheese, more chat with James, missing my other best mate and writing this LJ post. later on will involve a film or two and some more reading of The Strain.
