Humira
I didn't want to update straight away with this information in case it was either coincidental or a fluke but 24 hours after the first injection I felt a huge difference. I woke up the following morning after my first dose and lay for a moment because something felt off and through my sleep haze couldn't work out what it was until I reached for my phone. My thumbs didn't hurt. My thumbs have ached badly for about a year or more now and to suddenly not feel that was bizarre. Still lying down I cautiously squeezed them -- nothing. Harder -- nothing. Frowning I threw myself upright and realised I wasn't aching or stiff all over either. Not wanting to get too excited I went to find Mutti to see if she thought I was nuts and found Vati instead, who thought it was great. I told Mutti when she got in and she seemed happy and excited by the news.
Retrospectively I realised two things:
- I managed to kneel on the stairs - kneeling is something I could barely do on something like a couch never mind a hard, carpeted floor
- I've been sleeping all through the night since that injection - no tossing an turning as one side gets sore then the other :)
Art Work
I've been working a lot these last few days, since deciding that I'd rather like to apply for art school. I've got a list of ideas of things to put in my sketchbooks; everything from mixed media, to sketches, techiniques and photographs.
Deciding the direction I want to take my portfoilio in was difficult and though i've picked a very common general theme 'Nature' I hope to create something unique to catch the interviewers eye. Artistically I know my strong points and limitations though arguably art has none...or something >.< Art movements i've always been interested in are Surrealism and Fantasy as well as Expressionism.
Next week sometime Vati and I are going into town to get art supplies "groupily". I need new A1, A2, A4 and books as well as pencils and inks and some pva glue, card, labels and eventually a portfolio case. He's been talking about getting back into art for a while now as well and needs some new stationary. I think the trip will motivate him more though because at the moment all he does is talk about it. ./rolls eyes.
Health (besides arthritis)
The whole headaches thing doesn't appear to have cleared itself up any and the few days after the dose of Humira seemed worse and I though it was side effects, but now i'm thinking it could be my eyesight! It's been years since I had an eye test and I am long-sighted and have glasses for reading, but I barely use them and haven't in years and think maybe my eyesight is getting worse though it doesn't feel like it visually of that makes sense. I told James the other day and he said: "Oh no, I better try and stop you." "lol, why?" I asked. "Because then you'll see what I really look like." he replied. He was joking, I hope. I told him i'm not BLIND, like he *was* up until May and that he could have easily taken one look and run for the hills after he got glasses he could see out of! ^.^
Random
Tomorrow is the beginning of the end. Our old bathroom is getting ripped out and a new one put in. Firstly i'd like to say that the "construction" process would have been cool to record photographically, but that won't be happening with my poor camera in Notts. Secondly peeing in a bucket and bathing in the kitchen sink will not be the most fun i've ever had. Just there though Mutti came back from her "mission" - acquire neighbour's bathrooms! I didn't know this was underway and she proudly came upstairs to tell me that we have the use of Kate's bathroom down the street. Apparently I'm the only one in the world who can't use a strangers bathroom, willy nilly, when not actually staying there. Walking down the street and chapping the door for use of the loo just seems weird, even worse for showering since towels and bathing stuff needs to be carted along! There are also 7 footballers staying there or something. Even if Kate's not bothered by the random neighbourly bathroom sharing operation, those footballers might! I'll stick with my poo bucket and charming sink as per planned routine!
Anyhoo, back to work.
