I'm back, and on a different project. This place is addicting. This is somewhat obscure information I need, but anything helps.
Does anyone know what a Vietnamese seaport would be like in the 1850's? Or just early to mid 1800's for that matter. What would a very basic layout be? Would a more "town" part be farther off? Where would restaurants, inns, and taverns be located?
The same question goes for any Indonesian or (what would eventually become) Malaysian seaports, but I'm looking more for Vietnamese.
Could anyone name any prominent Vietnamese seaports in this time period?
Also, if there was a pirate ship that needed to buy and sell goods, would it try to disguise itself, bribe dock officials, or what exactly to evade capture? Would it be the same as European pirates (a field I know more about)?
Lastly, could anyone name any Vietnamese, Chinese, Indonesian, or Thai curses or just general expressions such as "Whoa!" or "Hey there
Thanks in advance!
