Tampering with medication and non-life threatening conditions

In one of my stories, the main character (a Medical Examiner) recieves a corpse of a man, middle-aged, who dies of non-obvious causes. He is able to ascertain that it's due a medicial mess-up, and he suspects someone tampered with his medication.

So my questions are as follows:

1. This is a bit broad, but can anyone think of a condition that's not really life-threatening, but requires regular medication? I need something that, should they stay on their medication, wouldn't affect their day to day to life. I can't find anything really specific, but I'm looking for something that's not something along the lines of 'lowering cholestral' or such.

2. Can anyone think of a medication that could be fairly easily tampered with, or failing that, something that could be switched with a popular medication and not be easily recognised? It's supposed to take the ME a few days to ascertain that the medicine has been switched/tampered.

The character (the dead one) was healthy other than needing the medication, active, etc. Sorry for not being so specific- but maybe that's why google and wiki didn't help much. Thank you so much!
