For Fascinoma: a lot of it depends on your character. To answer this question, you're going to have to know him really, really well. It says important things about him, either way.
Does he hold stuff in, or does he simply not let things bother him, or does he just not really . . . feel things very intensely? To me, that'd be the difference between a private crier (possibly violent crying/screaming), a private crier (soggy emo pillow-cuddle crying), and not crying at all. Ever. Because he's already dead inside.
I've gone through phases where I was all three. A person who is one way might later act quite differently once life has run them around the track a few times.
